Thanks! I did fish commercial halibut for one trip and lots of salmon but it was about 30 years ago now!

Yeah, I've been out there where you can't get your gear down deep enough to catch a chinook. Coho would grab it on the way down. As you said, it's fun for the first 5 minutes than not so much. Great day out at Swiftsure and nice big flattie! Awesome stuff and I can't wait to get out there this summer.

Nice! First time out there with that must action but every time one of the best fishing spots in the world!

Great job. From my knowledge in BC though the halibut limit is 126 cm as of a few years now. I thought swiftsure was in BC waters!!

@@alecplate4000 yeah, it's a disputed part of the ocean with an interesting history. DFO seems to change the halibut size and possession limits every couple years!

Awesome fishing... Second video of yours I watched. Great content. The halibut at the end, incredible. As a VI fisherman I may need to pay the money to get out to Swiftsure one day.

Thanks for watching both videos. That But was the cherry on top for sure! I hope to get out to swiftsure again this summer

We got a few halibut on swiftsure (US side) at the beginning of May this year.

Awesome! I haven't been out yet, but a I can't wait.

You can still fish with a Canadian license coming out of neah bay if you go over the border and get the license in person correct? When i was a kid my dad would just get em online but i heard you can't do that anymore
@fmb-fishingmeansbusiness5 ай бұрын
Most are sold online, I know non-residents can buy online but I have never personally done it.
@duckwacker87205 ай бұрын
You can, but you have to land in Canada and check your fish. Not worth it. I haven't done it in years because we carry pistols.
@208flatheads35 ай бұрын
@@duckwacker8720 so after fishing say the Canadian side of the bank you gotta run into PR and check your fish in before heading back to Neah Bay? Then I'm sure you gotta deal with wdfw as well?

Why is he using a turd spinning rod with a level wind?
@fmb-fishingmeansbusiness5 ай бұрын
The blue one? It's a slow-pitch rod with pretty good strength, the other ones are Shimano rods for hali and sturgeon, old but still good.
