I love that you made sure to let this pony rest when you felt that he needed it. This ensures that he will be good for any future farrier visits!

Thank you for being so kind to your animals you show a genuine compassion towards those innocent creatures. You do incredibly good work. KUDO's for that! I watch you with great pleasure (sometimes I'll admit to wondering just how you are going to pull this mess out as you usually do). I can't ever help thinking, right, there's one down and three more to go. Your calling is certainly not for the fainthearted nor for those with bad backs. Thank you deeply from my heart for the relief you bring to your clients. (expat Limey)

I love how gentle and patient you are. That hoof looks pristine by the time you're finished. It looks like you're left handed, but on another video you used your right hand. Are you ambidextrous or was the video mirrored somehow?????

Peter I’m not sure you will see this because it was posted awhile ago, but can you tell me the purpose of the frog ? Thank you.
@Peterthefarrier
@Peterthefarrier Жыл бұрын
The frog has a few jobs but one of its main jobs is part of the anti-concussive mechanism of the hoof. It helps the hoof deal with shock absorbing as the hoof lands.

im pretty confused about why are you leaving the white line crack in the white line of the toe? Doesnt leaving a crack like that in that spot have a large chance of developing into an issue sooner rather than later?
@Peterthefarrier
@Peterthefarrier 2 жыл бұрын
Some of the cracks would not trim out with out taking to much hoof off which would cause lameness. Unfortunately sparky is really bad with his arthritis and we really don’t know how much time he has left with us until he has to be put down unfortunately. So it is a case of clean his feet up the best we can and make him a bit more comfortable for the time he has left. If he did not have these problems I would sort it out with a shoe. Hopefully this answers your questions.
