I have 3 hens setting…northern Tennessee. I will let them set to replenish the flock. End of March I should have several new babies. Keep warm. Have a great day.

Hi! Are your pigs Mangalita’s? How do you keep the grass where the chickens are? Do you add more seed every year? Mine always tear it up and it’s nothing but dirt/mud. Thank you. Good video.

We had lots of snow up north of you. My son was driving semi in that nasty stuff on lower Michigan.

@Acres Of Adventure Homestead it is definitely a weird winter. I'm going to try planting my garden a little later this spring

I have started using your recipe for chicken feed but my chickens are not eating the oats at all. They keep throughing it on the ground. Any ideas? I have tried not giving new feed in case they were just wanting sun flower seeds but it didnt change. They still aren't eating oats.

is that just 1 day of eggs? how many hens are you up to?
@AcresOfAdventure Жыл бұрын
No it’s probably like a week of them going in that spot. We don’t always check inside the coop just the nesting boxes

@@AcresOfAdventure i was just curious. I am just south of you by a state and my hens just started laying again... I know their age has to do with it so I am not too concerned because we are integrating 9 new ones in a few weeks.
@maryrickles5716 Жыл бұрын
@@mommamoore how do you integrate new chickens? (Without them being pecked to death )
@mommamoore Жыл бұрын
@@maryrickles5716 well I let them get to know each other through fencing for about a week or two and then they just have to sort out a new pecking order. There’s lots of opinions on that and videos too 😊

@@AcresOfAdventure Well, if you're not diligent clearing the chicken house (and run), of eggs, and an egg gets broken/frozen, and the hen EATS it, the others will notice that, and then they will ALL EAT the eggs before you can get them..... Sounds silly BUT it is truly heart-breaking. 😩 Should be avoided, very hard to reverse this problem.
