Risk = Hazard+Vulnerability Hazard is the natural calamity that can’t be stopped . However Risk can be mitigated/minimised by taking into account of vulnerability. Vulnerability in this case is soil condition. Being in the foothills of Himalaya mountain range the soil in our region is considered as the youngest soil . Should proper soil investigation is done prior to Construction they would know that that the scouring is bound to take place and if proper river training works were constructed, today we would have minimised such calamity up to certain extent . Mechanical Soil stabilisation is very much necessary is most of the stretches of 4Lane.

But her landslide, floods all are natural calamities which we can’t avoid and no matter how much we try to prevent and the landslide was caused due to the river water. 🎉Alternate route: Niuland - Zhadima. Another: patkai - Peren - Dzüleke - Khonoma😅. 🎉 Landfill idea... Construct pillars along (20 ft apart) along side of stream. At base weld L shape rods toward road, away from stream, place wire fence along pillars. When soil is brought to fill, it will firmly cover the L shape road so pillars will not tilt away. At base drop rocks of all shapes and sizes. This will make road firm and permanent, as stream water will not wash away soil inside fence, and filled soil will stay put. 🎉🎉🎉 I pray God will help govt and construction companies to make excellent roads for Nagaland 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏. Sadly NHIDCL is unable to tackle the land slides in Nagaland, appropriate walls to be provided but normally they don't do accordingly, on the river beds, protection walls with stone rubble works or ordinary chain link stone sausage wall will never work, best way is to raise RCC walls with pile foundations will solve the problems. Even at Dzuza bridge like in foreign countries, they may construct RCC ducts so that if mud flows, that can flow above the said structure so that the vehicular movement is not effected

No matter how much the Govt spent money to develop this highway, landslides will always take away. Rio should focus on developing other district's roads to reach Kohima or maybe better change Capital to a suitable and spacious place unlike Kohima.

Uncle Rio must try to connect more Angami Areas by construction of roads in His Tribesmen Areas, rather than Constructing alternative Roads to Niuland via Zadima Road....l see many rural Angamis villages constructed with Black metalled road, I don't mean to spread hate,but from this His government must learn lesson to pay Equal Treatment for all Nagas inhabited Areas.

The construction of the four lane road from Dimapur to Kohima was done in the worst possible manner, it was not built with any planning, it was built in a hurry, in which corruption worth crores of rupees took place, due to which so many people are losing their lives.
