Never build townhouses or attached homes on hillsides especially on soft soil, not solid rock. Attached homes are heavy compared to single family homes where there are open spaces like driveway, front, side, back yards.

Aerial images suggest the houses were built over an old arroyo which was filled in to level the ground. apparently It wasn't as dry as they thought. ground water built up in the old bed and floated the houses.

Isn’t this usual business for California? Houses are built all over those California hills and builders, engineers, fortune tellers, never thought this was a possibility ?🥴

The homeowners will have to pay mightily since their home values just went to zero with no chance to rebuild. Given the interconnected nature of the industry, everyone with insurance pays for this even if you reside far away. See Florida for home insurance rates rapidly increasing with requirements for roofs being recent (if you can get a contractor) and insurance companies going under, quitting the state, or not issuing new policies. All due to Mother Nature.

I looked at a real estate website and these homes start at 2 mil. So these people are now "homeless?" How ironic. The land underneath is moving? Hmm? Is this just the beginning of the massive earthquake expected in the near future? I wouldn't buy a home built on a cliff's edge. No matter how nice the view. Just sayin

They used their success in life to keep the mass majority of Americans in poverty and they don’t pay their fair share of taxes so stop sticking for wealthy and successful people because they are cold hearted narcissists who don’t give a damn about others misfortunes.
