The aluminum is a heatsink for the leds it helps disperse the heat. Believe it or not them leds will get pretty hot without the heatsink. The small black one is called a cob light they get very hot . So with the heatsink the leds can run without some type of fan. If you wanna get rid of any of them lights I would be interested if the price is right. Hope that helped a little bit.

I almost 💩 when I heard the price that Steve came up with for the led exit sign. I looked them up on Amazon and a 4 pack with battery backup costs $142.00. What was Steve smoking? Haha. You guys are funny, you say scrap it and Steve says, “No, keep it”. That would be me, nothing would go to the scrap yard. Haha

For those jar type lights, you can break a lightbulb, put it into the recepticle and then fill the jar with gunpowder and nails. Then screw it into the wired recepticle with the broken glass bulb. When someone flips the light switch it will give them a good scare 😉. I think they're called blast proof lights or something like that. I've seen them on heavy machinery

@@ProjectShopFl I like to blow molten glass bubbles into the cage/protector make them custom colors and stuff. The glass blows out into bubbles from each hole in the cage. I'd send you one if you send me a couple of the aluminum cage parts.

I would give Steve a timeframe like 2 weeks or a month or something like that to sell them and if not scrap and move on unless you have room to store till they sell cause they def will. You just don't want your shop packed up with stuff in hopes it sells some day iam sure

Incredible collection of LED's. What's the back story on all those? Did you purchase all them on the cheap and haul off from a job site? What kind of investment do you have in all the lights? Hopefully you got them cheap or free. If you mentioned it in Part 1, I must have missed that.
@ProjectShopFl
@ProjectShopFl Жыл бұрын
I basically got them for free. A customer had a few shipping containers and one was leaking so he scraped everything in side. I bought a bunch of ballast and transformers, HID light fixtures, and a hole trailer of LED's and a massive amount of other stuff I already got rid of. I paid 500 for the scrap and then charged them 1200 for other removal services. lol I'm kicking my self in the ass because I scrapped 100's of new led drivers.
@silverlicious2086
@silverlicious2086 Жыл бұрын
Wow. Nice overall score tho. Live and learn about the drivers. Sounds like you got some of the stuff sold to your neighbors. Nice way to close out 2022. Here's to 2023 🥂

I’m telling ya get some of your corn cobs buy the adapters . The brightest one I have is 18,500 lumens. Hell you see these parking lots lit up. They are 5x brighter than any of those strips. Don’t have to mess with drivers or wires. Just plug and play
@ProjectShopFl
@ProjectShopFl Жыл бұрын
I just gave them all to my parents they volunteer at a 4-H fair in New Jersey and needed some new lights. The ones I had were equal to 1000W HID lights and would be blinding that close. they need to be 40-50' in the air. lol I wouldn't have to buy adapters because I get 100's of them. lol
