I wanted to leave you a comment for very long, but I just got myself to do it. Sometimes I find it strange why I watch your channel. I'm not a mom, I'm not athletic, I'm not frugal and I cannot cook at all. But I find your videos interesting and somehow calming. I had a very bad childhood and somehow it makes me happy to see your family, see what a good mother you are, how you care for your kids, encourage them to learn to appreciate food and money and feel happy that I get to see something like that. Sorry if this is a dark comment, but your videos really brighten my day. I just wish I could have had a mom like you. Keep being awesome! Thank you for that.

I unterstand what you mean. I would give my left arm to have grown up in such a loving home with structure and patience. I love the channel mostly beacause of Christine's personality. Due to some health issues I can't work out as much as I would like and can't eat all the yummy things. But let me tell you something that helps me from time to time: Life only gives you the stuff you are strong enough to handle. Yes it is not fair that you struggle with minor things because you had such a rough start. But from one warrior to another: I believe in you! You came so far and you will go beautiful places! Sending lots of love!

We own about 30 pair of scissors. They are ALL always missing. I'll buy a new pair then those go missing too. 😒 during a spring cleaning i found like 27 pairs of scissors and they were all missing 3 days later. I still don't know how 🤷♀️ the magnet trick worked for me, almost. I kept the same pair for almost two weeks before I found them outside where my husband was working on his truck 🙃 😳

I'm in Colorado & I put food out to cool &/or freeze all the time too. Today we did a huge pot of white bean & pork soup. Once cool, it gets bagged in single servings for the freezer. A few ideas that crossed my mind while watching. If someone is short on freezer space &/or their family doesn't like their peppers stuffed (like my husband) you could chop the peppers & mix with the chorizo mixture. Chopped cabbage would be good with it also. Canned pineapple, peaches or apricots made into a sauce would go well with the tropical fruit in the overnight french toast casserole. When you add water to a sauce jar, put the lid back on & shake it. You'll get more of the sauce out & won't need a spatula. You can cook ground meat in the Instant Pot. It would have held all the turkey for taco meat in one batch. Love your food prep videos.

A quick tip for getting all the sauce out of the jar. Put the lid back on after adding a little water and shake it up. You'll get the extra off the lid as well as the sides of the jar.

Quick tip to stretch your taco meat. Cook up 1 cup of whole wheat berries. I do it overnight in my tiny 1 qt crock pot. It's just 3 cups of water and 1 cup wheat kernels. Once they're cooked up, add 1 c of the cooked wheat in with your browned meat and increase your seasoning by about 50 percent. Gives you a lot more food, increases your fiber and vitamins, too. And the extra 2 c wheat can be frozen in 1 c quantities for the next time you make tacos. I'm sure it'd be an excellent addition to sloppy joes, too. And the wheat seasons well and isn't really noticable in the final dish.

Next time you have a diabetic there, meatballs are great, just check for fillers. I buy the little tomato sauce cans and make a tiny amount of sauce adding some garlic powder, oregano or basil or both and a splash of balsamic vinegar. Put it in a little container and then do the meatballs in the air fryer or microwave. Top with some Parmesan cheese. Great diabetic meal. For the jarred sauce add the carbs + sugar and see what it adds to. I find them really heavy in those two things. Anyway, I noticed you had a relative that was diabetic and that's an easy Italian substitute for them when you eat Italian.

You can add beans to your taco meat to stretch it further as your boys get older. I started doing this because I have three boys. As they got older they were hungry all the time. The meat was too expensive for my budget, but I eased the budget by adding beans to some of my taco recipes. You could also use refried beans as a bottom layer instead of regular beans.
