Amazing and yet simple explanation of a common issue. Using low and high hip connection to maximum effect....added to favourites.

Just got caught in this last night. Excellent explanation for the modified scarf hold, no where else have I seen such clear details to address the escape properly.

For technique #2 if you are playing no-gi and you can’t grab a lapel what do you do? Would thumb-in-the old airport work there?

BRILLIANNT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Damn do you have a secret curriculum or just figure out the highest percentage moves possible from positions? Anyway ty for the escapes. I’m a blue belt and I’m still trying to get my core escapes from every position. I really would like to know the one or two you use from regular side control where they undertook your far arm and your near side arm is in their hip. I mean do you normally regaurd or when you get undertook or do you suggest going to knees for single or double

For the last two weeks I've been letting people pass my guard hoping they will try to pin with a scarf hold. Finally happened last class & I did the high hips escape first try.

Will the high hip escape work on a traditional scaf holder, like a wrestler or judo man?
@InvisibleJiuJitsu5 жыл бұрын
Yes definitely. But remember, true escape mastery comes with the ability to combine multiple escapes based on our opponents reactions

@@InvisibleJiuJitsu I know 2 for the no underhook Judo style 1.) Slip out the back 2.) Walk my hips into him and load him on top to dump to the other side. Are these the best options? Because frankly this a tough spot for me to escape once I'm caught in it deep, making me question my previous decision to focus on protecting my underhook, mostly when the wrestler scoops up my neck and arm -- and then starts putting it on me and walking his legs. As I'm sure you know...staying flat there sucks... Either way, thanks for this escape combo, and I'd love to see your ideas on the non underhook someday if possible. It's making a comeback here in Michigan.

@@Toddbarcey getting your arm down is the highest percentage escape and there's a way you can make that a lot easier. Could be a good idea for a video actually
