I want to keep reminding people that for perspective, my **car**, a Smart Fortwo Electric Drive 2015, has about 100km of range, if I'm alone and at a steady pace on a 80~70km/h road without any stops - ideal conditions, basically. This single-wheel device you can hold in your hands and charge in your apartment... can do almost double the range if you're lightweight and go real slow. This is absolutely bonkers.

Another "no thanks" about electric scooters would be "tiny wheels that will cause an immediate endo if a pothole is hit". And another - can't safely remove hands from bars to signal a turn. Most scooters are also massive. So no thanks. Harder to learn the EUC, yes. But it's safer in the long run. Good advice about not setting the toe clamps too low. I found out the hard way and had a bad foot injury.

Yes, they are super rare. Mostly because they are illegal to ride almost everywhere, and because learning is a lot harder than with a scooter or an e-bike. And you cant really "test ride" one anywhere because learners drop their wheels so often so nobody is willing to let them borrow one for learning. But yes, they are incredibly fun. It feels like you are standing on a flying carpet, or like downhill skiing but also being able to go uphill at crazy speeds and never needing a ski lift.

Like @tomford1611, I too bought the Master Pro V3 before the Sherman L released, and I would gotten the Sherman L if it came out earlier. HOWEVER - after 3,500 miles (5632 km), and daily practice drills on the MP3 (hey, a music format!), I adapted completely to it, and I commute, shop with it in the grocery store, can do tight backwards figure 8s, pendulums, open/close ride through farm gates without getting off, ride around the field with my horse, ride indoors - all with the MP3. So, with this much experience now, I want to stick with my MP3, with still the largest battery (4,800wh), and still the most powerful motor (5,000w), the biggest wheel size, and still the longest range. They only downside is 127lb (57kg), it's quite a lift. So in a nutshell, if you got something similar that fits you like a glove, why spend that huge amount of money, and go into debt for the Sherman L?

This seems like a newer and improved Sherman S, I'd probably buy it if I didn't already have my Sherman S. I can go for a 100km ride on my Sherman S and not worry about the battery, riding as fast as I want the battery will still comfortably last. I've never had the battery drop below 20% after 100km of riding. I think I could get 150km on my Sherman S, so I could definitely see the Sherman L getting 160km without having to ride slow to do it. My Sherman S has ~4,000km on it and has never had any kind of work done on it. I did buy Nylonove pedals and Grizzla pads though.

@@simpsons721 Costing more than my car doesn't automatically mean I am broke. It is a statement of observed fact which is true whether I am penniless sleeping in my car, or sitting with 40 million bux in the bank. I am fully aware that new tech means R&D costs get passed onto the available units, and with narrow adaptation there are few units to pass those costs onto, so each unit is more expensive. As an owner of 2 electric scoots I am aware more motors is more bux, more powerful motors is more bux, bugger range comes from bigger batteries and thus more bux in engineering and batteries alone. But none of that changes the observed fact it costs more than my car. It also costs more than a can of soup as well. Cost more than a return flight to Poland from Australia as well. It is roughly the price of a Suron eDirt Bike. And if I don't like the price do not buy it, or buy a cheaper one - but get less of everything as a result. I am fully aware of all that. Adam even expressed he thought it was overpriced. I just figured I would add a real word comparison for the LOLs. Having said that, I do have my eye on an Inmotion V11Y :)
