Here is much valuable information in an easy to understand way presented. NONE of this was ever mentioned by the staff in the Cooley Dickinson Orthopedic Clinic I am a patient of. 106 days after my injury (due to a fall), an MRI is being made. I have no doubt that the flawed PT I recived has contributed to scar tissue formation, compromised deltoid muscles and more damage.

This is a great video. So detailed and easy to follow. Thank you for doing this. I am a 55 yo powerlifter. Had a massive RTC tear with the biceps of course. Had surgery. 8 weeks as of today. Feeling great. I didn't hear a mention of using an allograft during the repair. ( as needed) What are your thoughts about this? Thank you. Camille

The best overall explanation on the shoulder and the rotator cuff I have come across.With a large complete superspinatus tear from playing golf over 25 years,is it possible to rehabilitate the shoulders muscles to continue to play golf in the future.I have full range of motion but pain reaching for a bottle of water.Thanks.

Im a 56 year old athletic, fit adult league baseball pitcher. 17 months ago i had a massive tear of the supraspinatus on a headfirst slide. Im also a master craftsman that works with his arms and shoulders everyday. My surgeon attempted to repair the tendon with a scope and could not. the tendon had retracted too much. Should i consider "open surgery"...to attempt reattachment.

My right shoulder has a partial thickness insertional tear in the mid supraspinatus tendon. It measures 5 x 4 x 6mm. There is a small focus of calcification adjacent to it. the subacromial bursa is thickened and bursal bunching with shoulder abduction, compatible with subcromial bursitis. This is all from my test results. Due to self isolation from COVID19 I cannot attend my first appt with the shoulder surgeon yet. I am very interested in your opinion and if you could give me a rough idea on whether or not surgery would be considered. I have tried physiotherapy, cortisone injections and they did not work. I am in agony. Thanks.

I suffer from massive rotator cuff tears in both shoulders but left shoulder is far gone and have bone on bone pain, I do have full or at least good range of motion I am told that I have arthritis and want to know if physical therapy will help me? A man with hope.

Thanks for your response 👍regarding a shoulder replacement as soon as possible & especially after a fall.,regardless of age 👍.If the surgery is not done as soon as possible then more complications will come such as wasting of muscle mass in the body..Delayed surgery leads into a lot of complications after surgery & the healing process will not be smooth. Thank you once again. Mehrunnisa 👍🙏.

I have a SLAP tear injury, plus a full thickness tear of my rotator cuff, plus a high grade tear somewhere else, plus my biceps is partly torn off the bone. My surgeon is going to remove a bit of my collar bone but I can't remember why. In other words, I'm a mess. My surgery is April 7th.

I am 67 years old and have a complete tear of one tendon and partial tear in 3 others due to an old ladder injury (>10 months). Doctor has ruled out surgery for now and I am in therapy. Range of motion has increased but pain level remains at 7. What other options are available? Is therapy a long range solution if severe pain remains?
@mattjohnson78354 жыл бұрын
I just had rotator cuff surgery with 2 complete tears. Keep in mind that complete tears will never heal themselves. If you are looking for full functionality of your shoulder like playing golf, etc, then surgery is necessary.

@@patticakes8656 Correct. You might be able to live with partial tears, but not a full tear.

Matt Johnson Thank you for that.I have talked to several people who opted out of surgery and I knew I couldn’t make it without surgery.They made me doubt my decision
@iantawashington-allotey99134 жыл бұрын
Dianne Anderson that’s not what I hear this doctor saying. He’s saying it depends on the patient, how long they have had their injury and if they have any underlying conditions and what the patients shoulder goals are.
