Gamers are easy to scam. Look at Chronicles of Elyria, Earth 2, Star Citizen, etc... they're easy targets because they take advantage of the poor state the mmo industry is in and prey on hopes and dreams by claiming to make the most ambitious projects ever. But then you dive into the background of said projects and find heaps of problems. The dev team is always lack luster, often padding their experience to make it seem like they're better than they really are. We've seen this on all the aforementioned projects. Earth 2's dev team experience on LinkedIn is a far cry from what they claim on their site. Chris Roberts had a history of terrible management prior Star Citizen where he was literally booted off Freelancer by Microsoft because he was out of control. The same exact thing is happening with Star Citizen. These projects are scams. Had they been physical products they'd have been sued to the ground in court. But the courts are behind the times with regards to technology. As Kira has showcased here there is a blatant pyramid scheme going on targeting gamers. The BBC even called it out and yet it's still standing. These types of projects will become the norm make no mistake. Until the courts pull their heads out of their asses it will be up to the gaming community to stay vigilant and call these fuckers out.
@edwardroh89

@@OfficiallyR3levant they target gamers because there's lots of kids, and kids are easy targets for manipulation. something like microtransactions is shown to be very very similar to how gamblers get addicted, only that it's targeted for underaged kids, but $$$ over ethics right? but either way, this isn't just a gaming phenomenon, i think gamers are so isolated from other industries or just don't care, they don't realize these scams are in every industry...it's essentially the profit motive, and the only way to stop this is (proper) government regulation, not let free market run its course with 0 regulation

@@OfficiallyR3levant Not saying there aren't scam games out there... I agree. However, I just find it hilarious that you feel the need to toss in Star Citizen as a example of one of these scam games. I highly doubt that it is and if it is... it sure does look amazing. Best looking scam game out there IMO.

@@jarredw5380 Star Citizen shares many similar aspects to Earth 2. They sell jpegs at ridiculous prices, constantlty lie about the state of development, gaslight their backers, and have missed every release date they set themselves. That seems kinda shortsighted. I can't imagine what game development would be today if there was never mass file transfers online. That's kinda outside the fact that all games would be local coop at best and the free game space would never have existed in the way it did thanks to the internet. Since games would've had to be physical to be transported even today assuming there was no internet. There would still be a massive cost to any game actually being distributed. But I get it. It was more a jab at this scam that's picking up every avenue of engagement that they can pull some cash out of.

So what this is is Multi-Level Marketing (MLM) aka the legal pyramid scheme. The difference between the two is that a pyramid scheme has no real product and the MLM has a shitty one. Curious if you've been invited to a MLM? Here's the MLM bingo: >Payment structure that gives bonuses and compensation for the recruitment of members and their sales >'Be your own boss' >Large upfront cost - buying in, by usually buying a bulk amount of the product >Free alternative to the large upfront cost, with venues to benefits to those who bought in >Compensation packages that are insanely complicated or convoluted >'Groundbreaking', 'revolutionary', or otherwise outstanding product or tech...that you've never heard of before. And the one that's confusing KiraTV: >Exclusivity joining (instilling a fear of missing out) If y'all have any questions let me know - people apparently make me out to be a sap (I've been invited to two separate MLMs)

Wait, 2,2 BILLION users? You know, BILLION? 2 200 000 000? Like you know, one third of Earths population? How stupid would someone have to be to believe that?

Im getting twitter adverts in Canada for another Earth 2 style scam, they stopped the ads so i cant find its name. It uses llamas in the ads if anyone else encounters them, its exactly the same as Earth 2 though, you buy parts of the earth

Both PlanetIX and Crowd1 are Swedish "companies". I'm embarrassed for being from the same country at those scammers. By the way, the mobile games you would get through that €5.75/mo subscription looks like utter crap. Why not buy one decent game per month from either Google's or Apple's marketplace for €5 instead? A few of my friends have fallen to MLM scams. They end up with a huge pile of unsellable crap and a hole in their wallet. It's a shame, and I wish lawmakers would take a more proactive approach to stem this crap from popping up all the time.

Apologies, read it as 22 billion, it was 2.2 billion members. So like a 4th of the planet at least signed up to play these 100 games or for services yet to come. Microsoft and Sony better start taking notes. Secondly, is putting the highest costing membership first a EU thing, or is this company just THAT scummy? (I live in the US, no idea how things like this are presented in other countries). Also, if you have to include in your business model "This is NOT a scheme" I mean, sure, it's not a scheme, it's a scam. Thanks for the video Kira!

Such a scammy sounding name too. Combine that with the promotional videos which look like the product of the bad guys, in some low budget teen film. Very suspiciously sparse FAQ as well.

Steam or Nintendo Switch. I would say just Nintendo without the console part, though, as many many people are familiar with the brand.

People can see it like a stock exchange or crypto. Just without the dividends or interest of stocks or the track record and usability of crypto. It might as well be similar to trading and selling Pokémon cards but with questionable legality and someone else is getting rich off your trades.
