@@The.Simple.GardenerTHX! That's an awesome deal and I'll have to check it out! I had a pair of the hand garden clippers but I left them at someone's house when I was helping them out with a whole garden transformation. Lol. I'm so guilty of that and that's why I'm investing in a pull wagon cart to keep everything in like her green one too! 😊 This brand lasts forever and is worth every penny you are so right!

I actually use post hole diggers a ton in my garden. I like that I can lightly drop them down and scoop up the soil, leaving the perfect sized hole to plant my annuals and perennials. So much more comfortable to stand and dig, rather than being on my hands and knees for hours, especially in areas that are full of plants that you’re trying not to smash. 🌸
@kyrad65436 жыл бұрын
I was thinking the same thing. The post hole digger might be really useful for digging a small hole in a tight spot. Thanks for the info!
@StaceyHerewegrowagain6 жыл бұрын
I don't use much of the post hole digger, just small hand tools, shovels, hard rakes, tillers, I would love a cart to pull my stuff around in the Garden, a kneel pad and hand saws too, I can go on and on With their selection for Sure! It lasts so long too which is so important for me. We don't get snow here, but all the other equipment would be amazing to have🤔 What to choose is going to be the hard part everything looks exciting to have and so useful!. Every thing seems to come up and I dont have much family so it's all up to my fiance with income which is tough now days. Im sure a lot can relate. I hope I can get enough to set up a great garden to give away food to homeless shelters and help people in need of a meal.. Happy planting! I love meeting with people in the gardening community!

Hi Aaron & Laura 🌻, I once told you I have just a few good tools . Fiskars are just those 🌟 It started with my children's scissors that could make creative cuts and were sized for different ages . They lasted throughout their lives , art classes I volunteered them for until just recently I donated all to a children's group of multiple ages . It made me so happy . I had a total of 25 . Just enough 🌈. I have just a few " BIG GIRL TOOLS " of FISKARS now but, as I told you my budget as a Nanna is different now . My Cottage Garden is a dream in the making , if not for me then for whomever comes into my Garden space . For my hydrangeas " leftovers from a box store , they all have blooms . I am praying for some wood for the beautiful white fence for the backdrop with a ledge . This will give me something to hold on to as I walk through along and add those " other compliments that will fall through the fence . I just can't wait to see ... GOD HAS PLACED HIS HAND UPON THIS GARDEN & ME 🕯. He brought me to Garden Answers & now , hopefully you'll see Fiskars Tools as an Asset to your Garden🌈 I need some help ; I can't seem to close the Fiskars PRO Secure Lock System Folding Utility Knife I just Purchased . I have cardboard boxes to cut down . I've found a sharp blade is so much safer then a dull one . I need to know why this won't close when it opens with just a flick of the wrist . Any ideas Aaron ? Thank You ❗

The best Tool I own is the Fiskars power stroke pole pruner. It is lightweight for me, I am 70, and is about 6 ft so easy to carry about my wooded property. It reaches into knarly shrubs and overhanging branch’s making it so versatile. Mine is over 8 years old and still going strong, so hope they still make it.

I know you guys have said that coming up with your own tool line is not something you plan to do yet. But I think a collaboration with Fiskars or another company is something you should consider. You have a wealth of knowledge and it may benefit other gardeners as well.

I recently passed up the PowerGear2™ Hedge Shears for a larger shear without gearing, because I want a tool I can use more aggressively on dense blackberries. The gearing on that tool makes it take so much longer to cover the same area, and requires such a large range of motion to operate. It doesn't have the hook shape that allows you to bring force to bear on thick branches, so I really couldn't get value out of the gearing. I think my dad might be better off with something like that though, he was getting pretty worn out with the straight shears, and I can see the appeal of taking it slower if you are pruning something you've planted intentionally instead of clearing out bushes entirely. The power gear lopper is amazing though. I used that to cut through 3.5 inch tree trunks. It really swings above its weight, and lets me reserve the saw for fewer things. My other loppers were getting a bend in the handle from how hard I was trying to cut through things with them.

I use a post hole digger to plant trees and shrubs. You have better control over the size of hole you dig with the post hole digger. Also less disruption of the plants in an established bed. Planting the small Splinter Boxwoods would take no time at all using the post hole digger. Think giant bulb planter! LOL
