That elf bronzer and blush quad has been around forever but I think they reformulated a little bit. If I’m not mistaken each shade pops out and u can customize your quad for travel. I love mine.

Former ulta employee! If the product is used in any way, yes we throw it away after emptying it so no one can steal it from the dumpster! Wasteful but needs to be done! Don’t feel bad returning! After working there I don’t feel bad returning anymore cause so many people do it.

I used to work at Ulta for a few months, and sadly if you've used the product at all yes it gets thrown away. BUT if it wasn't used, it can be put back on the shelves to be sold. So if you KNOW something won't work for you, don't use it and it won't get thrown away! Idk about Sephora though.

Yes, any product that has been used and is returned is destroyed before it’s trashed. The exceptions do happen and can be returned to vendor (certain brands want the packaging back to reuse or recycle themselves) and many hair tools are now return to DC so that they can be sent back to the brands instead of trashed.

Casey, usually cosmetics counters or stores will throw away or”damage” products returned if they’re opened. I worked for Lancôme and a lady returned a skincare item, but she didn’t return it unused. It seemed as if she emptied the Lancôme product and filled the bottle with a drugstore product. She claimed her skin reacted from it.

I work at an ulta and yes we have to damage it out, destroy it and then throw it out. We can’t put it back on the shelf. Sometimes people don’t check and see if it’s been used and it accidentally gets put back on the shelf but yeah unfortunately we have to toss it.

They have really great brush cleaning mats with suction cups at five below idk if they have that store by you but if not, I got a super cheap silicone set on Amazon that even has a netting hanging bag that holds / dries your beauty sponges and the little netting overcoat thingies u out on your makeup brushes to keep their shape after washing / while drying … it’s really done wonders for the longevity of my makeup brushes and their quality !! Also ~ I got 4 different color stories of those LA Girl eyeshadow quads they are reallly really good ! I got the smoky one u got , the pink the purple and the teal kind one so so good I can’t believe the quality of these you’ll love it!!!

Yes I work at ulta. If you even open it we have to destroy it. It’s so wasteful, I personally wish they would donate it slightly used, or use as testers. That’s why we ask people if you “open or use it” so we don’t put it back on the floor. People sometimes lie because they think they aren’t getting the full refund. You get he full refund, we just ask so we don’t put out open makeup back out on floor because that’s when the expiration date starts.
