Ignore those jokers saying "it's only a rally car". Last time WRC was in Australia I went to the presentation where you can get up very close to the cars, I was amazed at how well presented they were, they looked immaculate. And these were currently competing cars, not a one-off historical tribute, and what is clearly going to be an incredible machine. Apply as much detail as you want, because detail matters.

About those radiator fans and about stageing them. What I've found out is that you need to seal them from each other. If one is running and other isnt. The running one is sucking air from satlled fans opening. Radiator core has restriction so fan takes air where it gets it the easiest. Love your ideas and work. Keep it up. Fan from Finland🇫🇮

That's a really good point.. I have never thought of that. 👍

@@EPSDaveRowe another as important matter is getting air to go throung the radiator at first place. You need to fab surroundings, ducts, spoilers, some kind of structures that funnels the air (and seal the rad to it) to go from grill openings to rad core and only to core. If th rad is just standing alone in open (like now on this video) air will aways go the easiest way witch is around the radiator. In really high speed race car pressure relier flaps can be add on so core dont get to much air pressure. But also on back side if the fans are small dia, they become restrictions to air flow

Awesome build guys! I've built a similar machine on a lesser budget and retaining most of the original cars chassis etc. You are right, the fuel tank will absorb a lot of heat from the hot air coming from the radiator. Consider a fuel cooler to keep that in check as insulation will only do so much :)

Have thought to paint the honeycomp under panel surface with protection paint like Raptor calked paint so that the aluminium surface is quite soft against sand and rock plasts what those wheels will sprey.

Many thanks for this update & video- fantastic work! It would be an absolute dream being in your position and building this car... deep sigh! Hundred questions remaining (curiosity and interest), but they'll surely get answered in the upcoming videos. 😊 Appreciated detail on the corner of the rear quarter panel: the little pink dinosaur (Grumpy???😅) over the scratchmark- love it!!! 😍 But one question: would you consider doing a livestream for firing up this car the first time- that would be more than amazing... 😁 Regards from Germany!!! 👏🏻

Fantastic project and love the videos. Learning a lot. Selfishly egging you on to find that 'motivation' and pull your finger out for that wiring. Why did you block off the back of the radiator?
@EPSDaveRowe10 ай бұрын
So the air goes through the fans
@Daniel-iq5oo10 ай бұрын
I would have thought that you would be limited by the fans. If the radiator was not shielded from the rear, the air could pass through the fans as well as the other regions of the radiator. I asked myself the question because I happened to see a video about the current GT3 RS yesterday. There, the fan is installed directly behind the radiator without shielding. But you're clearly more familiar with the subject, I'm no expert. kzbin.info/www/bejne/iXnUpaqhfamLatksi=OzbIKyuEpRUDdvH-&t=55 (Timestamp included) PS: I love this build
