Poor Levi, how many stings? I was 5, playing w dad in front yard. I missed the ball, it went into a bush. I ran over, stuck both hands into bush, pulling it open to find ball, yep, big yellow jacket nest. Stung so many times dad took me to hospital. I was given steroids and something else, I can't remember, but since then, a sting doesn't bother me. I still hate them though. I watched Levi and Hunter walk the trails yesterday, and man that was really awesome!! Hunter really loved it as he was just laughing for joy as he outpaced Levi. So sweet, two brothers playing in the forest and loving it. You've no idea the memories I experienced watching them. Ole Huntman was ready for some food and a Coke, just led Levi home, walked right in, sat down and told Kate, I need food and a Coke! So nice, I really enjoyed that video! Thank you Levi for sharing that. I also watched Kate's church sale shopping. Remember Levi, you get to go next weekend and shop. I saw power tools! I doubt Levi will read my comments, but I just feel like part of the Morgan family. You guys are always welcome in my house! Mike, thanks so much for sharing, as always, this was a great video!👍🚜❤

When we used to live in Georgia, the Duck Dynasty solution was always to wait until dusk, invert a 1 gallon can of gasoline over the hole, and return an hour later. The gas fumes seep down into all the interconnected passages and nuke the little bastids. For good measure, you can toss a match into the hole. (like I said, wait an hour, or things can be more exciting than what you bargained for). Also works for enormous fire ant mounds. Way cheaper than expensive chemicals.

Ladd, Don’t Ever throw fire into gasoline soaked ground. Those fumes permeates so deep into the ground- the end result is a bomb‼️‼️ And mad Yellow Jackets Flying everywhere‼️ Yes, the fumes/liquid gas kills them overnight but if you ignite the gas, a huge crater will be left from the explosion 💥 Speaking from a ONE time experience‼️ Yellow Jackets use old ant nests or spiders nest- they don’t tunnel. The ant nest always have several openings. I dumped half a gallon of gas in three holes, got back fifty feet, threw wad of paper towels that I lit 🔥 ~~ next thing I knew I was getting up off the ground with dirt all over me and Yellow Jackets Swarming everywhere‼️ The crater was about 20 feet by 10 feet by 3 feet deep‼️ Next day/evening I sprayed with the wasp killer- 6 or 7 cans. Gas’em just don’t light’em‼️💥 I live in Northeast GEORGIA Mountains ⛰‼️

Mike - I think BS Detector has a great idea for dealing with bees, hornets, wasps, etc. Wait until dark, and then use gasoline to do them in. On the firewood storage bin, I'm going to suggest you make sure it drains well, or you could have a puddle of water in the bottom, not just moisture coming up out of the ground. Blessings to you, Melissa, and the family. Hi to Hunter & Eva.

I use bait for yellow jackets- Yellow Jacket Bait: Mix 5 mL of Taurus SC or use Frontline Flea killer with Fipronil into a can of fish or chicken based canned cat food. Don’t add extra Taurus SC, you want the foraging Yellow Jackets to carry the bait back to the nest and not kill them on the spot. Mix well. I place one tablespoon of bait in a plastic shot glass. I place the shot glass inside a small screened suet feeder. Place the bait station out at first light in the shade. Place our in bait stations where non-target species cannot get to the bait. Typically the Yellow Jackets will be gone within 24-48 hours.

Good plan for firewood bin. Sounds like you will have cleaner and drier firewood. Yellow jackets are nasty to deal with. We get rid of their ground nests with a acetylene cutting torck clamped to a metal pipe about 15 foot long. Attached a flare head wide cone to tip which gives us about a 6 ft wide fire ball when lit. Knocks em out quick!! Follow up with 3 cans Raid Wasp and Hornet spray foam. Gone in an instant. Be safe and see you on the next video

Melissa, being allergic to bee stings, keep some nondetergent ammonia handy. If you get stung by a bee, wasp or hornet, hold an ammonia saturated cloth to the sting after removing the stinger. The ammonia neutralizes the venom. If you get it applied quick enough the sting pain goes away and usually no swelling. My daughter is allergic too and this works well for her.

DON'T do anything during daylight as you see there are a bunch still flying around when you dug up nest. Plus you want them all in nest, so wait til dark. Then GAS them ! 100% kill rate. Water if it doesn't reach all tunnels, leaves them alive. Gas/fumes are 100% !! After 10 -15 minutes of gas soaking, lite it up ! Ground will recover. Never had any survive !

After many episodes with bees, BS Detector's method was proven the right one for me, except no more fire. Just gasoline fumes. Then plug the hole. Works better and safer than lighting them up. The Vol. Fire Dept. will back me up on that. No lol. For 'paper' nest, use the foaming kind of bee spray, ..AT NIGHT. Use all precautions. They are like terrorists, they'll die for a chance to sting.

I always find one or two nests in my mulch around my house which makes burning to dangerous. At night dump Sevin powder in an around hole , the powder sticks on them and they contaminated the whole nest killing the WHOLE nest , that’s the important part. Yes, those little yellow buggers are bad this year even way up here in Saskatchewan Canada. They say the reason their so bad up here this year is because of our unusual long heat spell and drought we are having this summer. Never seen it so hot for such a length of time and also very little rain all summer. And I've been here many many years. Got stung for the first time in probably 25 years a couple of weeks ago right in the palm of my hand and it was sore for about 3 days. Hate em.

Here in Australia we have a product called Ant Dust. with Permethrin 25:75 in it at a weight for weight ratio of 1:100. It is a fine dust like talc, and you apply liberally around the entrances to the nest. When they enter they fly or walk through the stuff and take it into the nest. I call it "Powdering there little backsides" and I have had almost 100% success rate with this within 24 hours of application. For the more cautious applying the powder during the low light times is safer. You need to puff the powder over the area, not just dump a clump of it on the ground.

If you have a nest in a building wall, staple a cardboard shelf under the entry hole and the wasps/hornets/bees will land on the shelf before entering the nest and carry the Sevin into the nest. The dust is extremely toxic to bees so when the bees carry it into the nest and the next day all the nest will be dead. Wow sorry about the hornets, I can relate. I've done the usual "gas down the hole" fire and that is the best way I've found. Now 2 years ago I had some kind of hornets nest in a crab apple tree on my front property....hanging from a small twig branch. It grew from a grapefruit to a basketball size very quick. It was up high, but if I drove under with the tractor to mow they got agitated. So I just didn't mow under it that summer. I figured they can stay there for the summer, rather in the eaves of the house or somewhere we need to be. In the Fall the bottom of the nest just fell out....no bees left. They are somewhere this year....but not near the house or outbuildings so that's all I care about!

Mike. Try dish washing soap like Down and add water to it they can’t survive the soap suds. Put a screen over the hole with weight so that they don’t escape. Pour dishwashing soap into it the hole and run the garden hose over it” 2-5 min.

Less Work Method: Wait 'til 3 hr after dark. Pour 1 pint of gasoline down each hole. Go to bed. The soil will consume the gas over about a 1 yr period leaving nothing. For extra pyrotechnic effect: light the gasoline after 3 min, but then you have to stay up to monitor the fire.

Mike take a dish pan fill with water and add dish soap and take a board nail a piece of meat to it set board on top of the dish pan of water so meat is on the bottom make sure you have a gap of at least an 3/4 to 1 inch gap between the meat and the water. When the wasp go to fly they have to drop and roll up right to fly but they hit the water and they are done Reg wasp in trap's work but it will take a lot longer my husband uses this method in his wildlife control and when he's out trapping for fur good luck with your wasp.

I had loggers on my property. One got stung by a European hornet. It was 10 foot up a tree they wanted to drop. I fabricated an end for on my tree trimming pole to hold spray cans and trigger with a pull rope. I sprayed 10 wasp and hornet, 2 brake cleaner, and 2 starter fluid cans into the hole. All of this did not do a thing. I put a 4ft extension on my tree trimming pole. I installed a 1/16 in. id ss tube on the end. Ran poly plow tube for the 15ft reach. To it attach a 120 psi parts washer can. I put 1/4 cup of old drained gasoline in the can, pressurize the can to 100 psi, and wait till evening. After marking the hole during the day, put the nozzle down the hole and pull the trigger. IT takes a day or 2 for all to be gone. I got rig of the 2inch long European hornets. They cut the tree down 2 days later.

I've always liked the gasoline and match fix, but what ever works. I hate those things they are just too nasty. Hope Levi is ok great video, thumbs up.

Get an electric (battery powered) fly swatter, Velcro a small towel around the edge to create a curtain, turn it on and lay it on the hole. If two holes make two of them. Cheap, safe, simple, effective, no flammable liquids, no gas, no flares, no variables, nothing. Even if they manage to get out under the towel barrier, they will attack it and that's all she wrote.

There are many videos showing how to get rid of hornets. I like the apple cider vinegar mix with dish soap, both as a spray (kills in about two seconds) and set out in a shallow pan with a stick for them to land on. Adding a little borax helps too.

Hi Mike and Melissa. Last summer I was doing some trimming in my back yard. I hit a yellow jacket hornet nest. One nailed me right in the upper lip. Ouch !!!! Talk about pain!!! It almost knocked me on my butt. It was a big net I didn’t know was there. I call a friend that does extermination work. He came over and shot a chemical in the ground that killed the nest. Doing so he got stung twice and it didn’t bother him. I told him he was the bravest man I ever met. Lol 😂. I’m glad I wasn’t allergic to yellow jackets but they hurt really bad. I thank the good lord you or Melissa didn’t get stung. They are bad bugs and hurt like hell. Ughhhh 😝

The hot setup is getting the pro insecticide concentrates. In your case, one of the active pesticides in the wasp killer is Lambda-cyhalothrin(LambdaStar UltraCap), you can get that on Amazon for about 40 bucks. Depending on how you mix it that makes something like 30 gallons. My trick is with another pesticide (Taurus SC) is add a dose to those gallons of household broad spectrum insecticide with the little hose and battery powered sprayer. One walk around the house and you never see an ant for the year at least.

On 3 occasions whrn I had been stung by yellow jackets on my place, I was able to make a warning sign, drive it in the ground as close to the nest as I could, and leave them. They don't return the next season. The nests were out of the way and we had no children or allergic people around.

When we got into some ground bees/yellow jackets, etc... we'd take a pump up sprayer and fill it with gasoline... The gasoline will kill them on contact. In the evening, Find the hole stick the wand in, and start spraying. Come back the next morning and the whole nest will be dead.

Mike try flooding them out first AT NIGHT brother find the hole cover it with a screen block off edges I used landscape edge blocks pour in half a bottle of dawn dish soap take hose press it right against the screen flood for 20 mins looking at it in the morning now there are always those who come back to nest at dark they should still be trying to get threw screen but you will find a great deal dead at the mouth of hole give it a shot its a cheap fix even if it does not complete the job a vast number will die and safe for other animals
