It is important to know how to use Teflon Tape. You must lay it FLAT along the threads winding it CLOCKWISE along the threads. You add MORE if you want to align the regulator to a VERTICAL position. As you say vertical isn't an absolute must, but it is better to be closer than the 4 O'Clock position as the water will build up and must be removed. Teflon tape should be on all connections to prevent air leaks.

Is using the teflon tape a one time application or do i gotta apply teflon tape every time i use the compressor/airbrush?

You need to wrap the tape from one end tight down into the threads. One to two wraps will give you a seal.

Heres a detailed way of setting up the regulator. Having this pointed down is extremely important. and the "threaded tape" Teflon Tape, should be used to ensure that there is no air leakage, using it before is better than having to take your regulator off later because you didn't do it right the first time. I really appreciate this video as the instructions with the kit were pretty lacking! Unfortunately, I am having issues though and I'm not sure what's going wrong. The compressor itself seems to be working, but there's no air coming out of the brush or tube if I take the brush off the end of it. Any ideas for what to do to troubleshoot?

It sounds like you need to adjust the regulator. There should be a black knob on the regulator that you can pull out then turn to increase or decrease the air flow.

+WhiteHeather82 I recently for Christmas bought this kit. The same thing happened to me with my compressor. I put an O ring on the compressor end of the regulator and it works like a charm now!

If you add more or less tape you can get the regulator straight.

thanks I did that and there doesn't seem to be any leaks noise wise or by feel. It now won't even go to 20 psi when spraying. Gonna throw this thing lol. Thank you for the help

I Believe That Is A Moisture Trap What You Referred To As A Gauge Is Actually The Regulator.

guess what santa's gonna bring me... FYI, the pressure is actually stored in the big, metal body. The plastic container is just to catch moisture. I'm used to using a big, regular sized compressor and spray gun to paint arcade cabinets.

Actually this is a tankless compressor meaning it doesn't store air at all.

How do you really attach the pressure regulator to the compressor

I cannot get this thing to go above 20 psi when spraying. when adjusting the regulator all it changes is the psi at which the compressor will cut off. doesn't change the spraying psi at all. Plz help this doesn't seem right

You might have an air leak. I would recommend unscrewing it and putting on more teflon tape to create a better seal.

You put on the teflon to make it air tight so that no air escapes.
