I think it looks great, it’s very portable, it’s a good option for beginners who only make model kits occasionally. I bought a cheap Expo airbrush and compressor (£60) about 6 years ago. Struggled with it from the start. Generally wouldn't recommend cheap airbrush packages for beginners. I replaced the airbrush with a Sparmax Max-4 early last year and kept the compressor. This is 200% better! Although even the Sparmax is still a general purpose/beginners airbrush, the build quality and precision are so much better and that makes a huge difference.

Bought a similar unit 2 years ago and still going strong and have built many car and aircraft models using it. Had some initial usage problems with things like spray nozzle adjustments (critical) and how much paint thinning was required, but I think that had more to do with the fact that this was my first airbrush rather than any fault of the unit. Had to replace hose but only because I stood on it. If you adjust pressure knob just so, I found compressor (yes, same Harley Davidson sound as the one on this vid) will only run as you're actually spraying and will shut off a couple of seconds after trigger release. Slightly thinner paint with these cheap units is also a big help.

Hello mate. I've started model building on the same situation. Since march/2020 I have exactly the kit shown on the video and I can't complain. Seven models (1/35 tanks) already done. I'm still learning but have noticed how easily I can use tamiya products and how hard Ammo and Italeri paints are (in my case) to apply because the tip always dry too soon and I have to stop and clean. Might be the wrong solvent but maybe the airbrush/compressor also are to blame.

I intentionally used pre thinned "airbrush friendly" paint that is marketed specifically for use right from the bottle, because that is what beginners usually go for. After seeing many online guides and doing a complete deep cleaning, I finally got it working again but it stopped again after 30 second. Now the airbrush sometime works for one minute but the next minute it stops. Do you have any idea as to why this could be happening. Thank You
@StaticModel2 жыл бұрын
It is important to understand what part of system fails. Is it airbrush or compressor? See if compressor keeps pumping air without airbrush connected. If it still stops, there is something wrong with compressor itself. If it only stops when airbrush is connected, that means there is a clock in air system or airbrush trigger is faulty.
@thequantumcuber32612 жыл бұрын
@@StaticModel The problem is definitely not with the compressor as I have tested it thoroughly. It is most likely with the airbrush. I have not identified a consistent problem but sometimes there are bubbles in the airbrush cup. I have deep cleaned the airbrush, but it is extremely inconstant whether it worked or not
@StaticModel2 жыл бұрын
@@thequantumcuber3261 bubbles are usually caused by poor seals at nozzle cap, poor seal also make paint to dry out in awkward areas of airbrush, also "dry tip" issue will occur more often. Maybe your nozzle is split or cracked also, worth checking.

@StaticModel3 жыл бұрын
Moisture trap prevents condensed water from getting into your airbrush ant later into your paint. For example when you paint, big blob of water coming out from air hose can cause paint spit/splatter... Some people use transparent air hoses to monitor moisture build up in air channel. Also moisture traps are commonly available on ebay,alliexpress,amazon ect...

@@ogdizzle155 this one is more of a "arts and crafts" item and not a tool you can rely on when going for nice finish. While airbrush is decent, air pressure is way to low. For rc bodies,canvas airbrush drawings, touchup painting in real cars I wouldn't go lower than AS196 compressor and airbrush of your choice. If noise is not a problem, than invest in quality airbrush and get powerful household compressor...

I bought the same kit in amazon and it quite sucks. It worked decently just a couple of times. A complete waste of money. I Dont recommend it at all

could someone tell me if this is good for painting gunpla?
@StaticModel3 жыл бұрын
It depends how serious about gunpla you are... If you think about building lots of models, its better t o save up for higher tier equipment. This kind of setup is good if you make 1-2 models of medium quality per year :)

@@StaticModel Thank you, I was thinking about making a lot of gunpla. What airbrush and compressor would you recommend?
@StaticModel3 жыл бұрын
@@milkshrekpasta for airbrush go with iwata neo or h&s ultra, and get any compressor with air tank.

Компрессор через два месяца вышел из строя. Хватит предлогать людям говно. Лучше потратьтесь и купите себе мощный компрессор, которого хватит на всю жизнь.
