Our first two houses had master bathrooms about that size. Showering was so much fun😂! I do love the blue, though! My parents added on to our house (2 br ranch to a 3br two story) in the mid 60s. We had blue tile, tub, toilet and sink. It was a lighter blue. The one mistake I made when we added on to our house was making one of the kids’ bathrooms navy and white. Navy tub, sink and toilet. No one wanted to use the toilet! The tub and sink showed so much dirt, one second after being cleaned! I love building, adding on and remodeling. I know the disruption is hard to deal with, but just think of how wonderful it will be when you’re done! Thanks for the tour!

It's amazing how much that light blue sink shows every little speck of soap scum and tooth paste. I don't think I would ever do a colored sink for that reason. Our new sinks will be white. Navy and white actually sounds kind of fun, but I agree it would be difficult to keep it looking clean.

@@QbeesQuest i know! Since then, I’ve always done white. Especially for the toilet. There’s something unsettling about sitting on a toilet where you can’t see the inside!

Thanks Brenda for sharing the Before look. I got a chuckle out of seeing the bathroom as the toilet paper holder and soap dish were the same shade as the tile around the wall. I'm sure at the time that was super popular!

It must have been a super popular shade of blue to get everything to match so completely AND while I love the color blue, our new bathroom will be very neutral in color.

Thank you, Lynn! The 70s were a time when having a bathroom in the master bedroom was relatively new and at the time I think they were just happy to have an extra bathroom. We are looking forward to having more space. 🙂

Things can only get better from the original, although I do like the quatrefoil tiles on the floor. It looks like the original closet space will make the expansion of the bathroom fit well. I always like renovation shares!

I do like those floor tiles too, but I think overall our bathroom will have a more modern feel. 🙂
