When installing the switches by the door, Joey said one controlled the light and ventilation fan.

I was referring to the hidden switches that were installed in the vanity. Mr. Kate said it was done in a way that it is not on top of the vanity.

It adds texture! Bringing together different materials like that creates a juxtaposition between the soft wood and the cold black industrial looking frame. It just helps balance the overall look :)
