Today we're touring our master bedroom. This room is used for sleeping, dressing, baby care, sewing and KZbin video shooting and I show how everything is organized in this one small room.

You know what I love about Andrea's videos? She shows how they made a small house work with a large family. None of her videos are "amazing nursery makeover"....they're all about practicality and frugality. I always feel good after watching her videos! Other KZbinrs, no matter how sweet they seem leave me feeling inadequate, like I'm not doing enough to make my house look Pinterest perfect like theirs. When I finish watching Andrea's videos I feel motivated to appreciate what I DO have and make the absolute best of it. Rest In Peace, Andrea ❤️! May God have mercy on her soul. She has been an inspiration to many beyond the grave!

@@TheMillsFamilyVlog, I just found your videos and this statement brought tears to my eyes. I literally have nothing in common with Andrea, but just watching her joy in life makes me see things with a different perspective and I appreciate that. I wish she could see that she is here touching people all these years later.

What I like is the long term use of everything. Furniture. Cars. The home. People throw away everything these days. It's so sad. Using what you have till it can be used no more is just so wise and a thing to deeply admire.

Thanks for the bedroom tour. I need a ceiling fan over my bed! I am always sooo hot in pregnancy, even in the winter. We have to open a window and my husband freezes. I still like the curtains, but we've had them so long I'm ready for a change. (I originally made them for the living room and they hung there for a few years before we moved them to our bedroom.) I think the term "desperately need" new curtains was a bit of an over statement on my part. :) Just ready for a change. I'm the same way being hot in pregnancy. When I was pregnant with Eden it was the middle of January and I was lying on the bed spread out on top of the covers with the window open (our bed was up against the window then) and I was so hot; Tom was buried under the blankets with his head under the pillow trying to stay warm.
@InHimAlone

I totally get that with the curtains. I just replaced my living room ones because I needed a change and people were still giving me compliments on them. I just thought it was funny that right after I thought, "Oh, I like those," you said you were done with them, lol. :)

I do; I used to really favor it. I had a lot of white and lighter colors with that distressed look, but as our family has grown I've favored darker (read: easier to hide dirt and stains) colors. Tom and I have a list of words that are important to us when it comes to choosing things for our house so I try to keep them in mind when I'm picking things. My words are warm, cozy, humble, abundant and Tom's words are industrial, finished and clean.

I do sometimes; it depends on how life is going at the moment of the need! I've always made all the kids blankets and quilts. (I actually never thought about that until now; I've never bought a blanket or quilt for any of them.) The quilt we have on our bed currently is store-bought. The last one I made. Before that it was store-bought. Before that it was homemade. (I'm sensing a pattern.) I prefer making my own sheets because our bed is an odd size and my homemade ones fit better. The ones that we're currently using are king-size and too baggy on one side. I've been meaning to make new ones for a long time!
