I very rarely comment on KZbin, but I had to say that your home is gorgeous, so well organized, beautifully decorated, and you can feel the love in your home. I'm American, but I have been living in Europe for 14 years and 900 sqft is the average size home in Spain. I know as Americans, we think that 900sqft is small, but it isn't in most other parts of the World. There's a simplicity that comes when you don't have a massive house to take care of and the bills that come along with it. We're a family of 4 in 800sqft and we don't plan on 'upgrading' anytime soon.

Right!? My first thought as I started watching this video was, "What? Wait a minute. This isn't a "Tiny House". LOL! This is totally just an average size home. So, it looks like they are living below their means or have downsized (I don't know what their circumstances were before), but this is totally not in the category of a "Tiny House". *giggle*

I grew up in a family of 5 in a 980 square foot house. We never thought we were crowded. My sister, now, lives in a 648 square foot 2 bedroom house with her husband. Her house has no basement or attic and they have no problem with space. I think the more space you have, the more things you have. You have decorated your house beautiful.

Heads up friend... Bigger is not always better! In your homeschool update, Erin, you mentioned that one of the things that really helps you is ALWAYS cleaning your house before you go to bed. This is an attainable goal for you, I think, partially because you have a smaller space to deal with. We went from a 815-ish sq ft duplex (4 kids and pregnant) to a 2,020 SQ ft house (5 kids) and it is unbelievably difficult to keep clean because there is a lot of space for the children to drag their toys and carry food, even if they are not supposed to. Just wanted to throw this out there. Smaller spaces are better, in my opinion, because although it looks like a hurricane came through faster, it is also much, much faster to clean up. Thank you for the tour of your lovely home!

Were about the same, family of 5. I was trying to think of a word of how this made me feel and "validated" is so spot on. As much as I would love a bigger house I feel more content knowing were not the only ones, were ok it's livable, were happy and the kids are happy and it works...so far. So gotta keep counting those blessings!

@@veronicam5413 it’s whatever you can afford, that’s the home you go with….no need of buying a huge place then end up house poor….so if your home is affordable and comfortable then you’ve got a great deal no matter the size! Maybe in a couple years you can pay off your home and perhaps you can sell it and get something slightly better who knows what the future may bring!

Yep, my family and I are in 800sf too. Ive spent years trying to buy a bigger home but it has never worked out. God keeps saying, nope! Stay put. While this has been very frustrating for me over the years, I now see how staying put has given me financial security because I havent over extended myself financially.

We are a family of 4 and used to live in a 900 sq ft home. Space was tight, but it was home and cozy. We always dreamt of a larger home and we were blessed to get one. Now we find ourselves reminiscing on our previous home, the memories and the convenience of cleaning and chores. The world we live in is comparison. Home is what you make of it with people and memories. Your home is beautiful! You and your family are healthy, happy and take care of each other mentally and physically. Bless you!

Last year I went through the worse season of my life, wasn't sure whether I would ever get out of it. The only show I could watch was you and your family and for 6 months straight I literally watched you everyday. The Lord restored me and brought so much wholesome joy to my soul watching you and your family and all the ways He has blessed you all through good times and bad. I pray He will continue to bless you and your children and your children's children God bless x from the UK

Grew up 50 years ago with parents and two siblings in a 700 square ft home. One shared bathroom. Very common place at that time. We didn’t have closets of toys and clothes. We played outside and my parents would buy each of us three outfits at the first of the school year to last all year. White privilege. Oh and that was luxury compared to the way my parents grew up.

I see nothing wrong with this place. It's nicely laid out. The less to clean, the more time to spend with loved ones. Not to mention, when you live in a home, not a house, you enjoy each others' company. As long as you have a family room, a place to sleep, a bathroom, and a nice comfortable kitchen, you are all set. It's a home with a lot of windows and lots of light. I absolutely love it. Very cozy.

I have always loved your house. My favorite moments in the show are when they show you and your family in that lovely home. My house started at less than 600 sq ft but we added a bedroom, closet and a dining room so we are at about 1100 sq ft. We absolutely love it. Just think about how life works. People think they have to have a huge house if they have a few children but when those children leave home, they feel the need to downsize, so they are constantly moving. If you just stay where you are and adjust, you will save a fortune and your sanity. I love the way you have utilized storage areas. I can take a lesson regarding that. Again, I love your house and hope you can purchase it and maybe add on if you want but that house is just precious.

God bless your family! I needed this lol! I am renting a tiny home as well, it's probably 900 sq. ft. as well. The struggle is real! I have three kids and one on the way. Thank goodness to whoever created portable cribs because a baby doesn't really need a full size crib in the beginning and I think the smaller cribs are so cute anyway! We make use of the beds too! I have basically same set up....bunk bed in kids room for my two older girls and a toddler bed on the other side. One whole wall is a closet so they get to share that and we have "suctioned" many things into those Ziploc vacuum bags to give extra space. We just got a table last month a nook style and the handy thing about that is the bench seats lift up for storage space! I live on the West coast and houses are soooo high right now! My motto lately has been less is More lol!! It works and once Christmas is over and tree is out we will rearrange living room....again lol! It's like a giant puzzle sometimes and it sure is fulfilling my nesting needs lol!! Have a Merry Holiday!!!

You have really made it a beautiful and comfortable space! We are living in my family's historic homestead (also with 4 kids!) and I am constantly looking for ways to maximize space and declutter. I have five generations of hoarders that have contributed to the mess in this house so the entire upstairs is unfortunately a no-go zone and a lot of stuff is taking up space downstairs too, but you have given me some good storage ideas to try, thank you!

You have a beautiful home. I remember watching when you and Chad were first married and moved into this house-seeing you set up your first home as a couple. (Yes, I remember the pink master bedroom!) Now it's a family home and your organizational skills, minimalist lifestyle and simplistic taste really reflect your lifestyle.

Glad this video was suggested on my page! You have a beautiful home and family ✨ I love how neat, tidy and organize your house is this is truly an inspiration. We are also currently renting but in a 2 bedroom apartment in Sydney. We are definitely planning to get our own but I’m also pregnant with my 2nd child and working full time working from home so is it stressful to find the perfect home at this stage. Thank you for putting up this video. God bless your family. 🤍

Love this! We spent eight years in a house of similar size with our three kids. It really can work when they're small, because they're small! ;) It got trickier as they grew into bigger people, so we decided to make the move, but I really do treasure those years of literal "togetherness", I think it kept us close (again literally) as a family, and we made great memories! Best wishes to you and your family! :)

When we moved into our 1900 sq ft house (one room is used for husbands home office.) We had three young children and one on the way. It seemed plenty big enough! Two years later, twins! Now our oldest is 13 and just last year we realized we’ve suddenly outgrown our space! 🥰 We have been praying for a bigger home since then. Realizing it’s all about how the sq footage is used for a big family. Has to be in all the right places!

@@Anonymous09981 Yes, we are a family of 5 (3 kids 6 years, 2, years and 1) and are moving into a 2300 sqft house from the current 1300 sqft. We have no storage space, not a single person sleeps well and my kids are constantly cranky because of it, and we homeschool, so we are always home, all the time. The glamorizing of tiny homes for many people, is very annoying to me, because I kept thinking I was just being ungrateful based on airbrushed, edited videos of strangers. No, our house is too small for our family and we are open to new life always. I can't even stick bunkbeds in the rooms we have right now, I don;t know where we would put another child. I am not okay with limiting our family size because of our house, so joyfully moving in 2 weeks! I don't want the norm to be "just make it work." We are very minimalistic, and we still don't fit, so it isn't an issue of our stuff clogging our space. It isn't my job to make my family fit in a house, the house should fit us. So, enjoy your larger home and enjoy your precious babies :-)

@@ashleyslack5960 it’s all about perspective- in many parts of Europe, including the UK - your 1300 house is 300sq ft bigger than the average family home and 2300 sq ft is for the really well off families and considered massive. I think Americans are used to lots of space and while it would be nice, many families around the world manage on less space happily (so it’s not a fad)

@@yamaotung905 spot on. American houses are massive compared to the vast majority of the world. I once showed my children a video of a very happy family living in a shack in indonesia. They've not complained about having a small house since then lol.
