For me the best is observing thoughts and control them. Or train yourself to choose every thought. Not even waiting to come it by itself. Mind si instrument for creating reality in my opinion, and we are masters of it. For me mental diet and thought control is key to happiness. I have tried everything before. Thoughts create happiness and suffering. We choose what we entertain and allow

Thinking happens all the time, while walking, eating, talking, I feel we can only watch our thoughts and thinking. We can't stop thinking.

When you are present, thinking will naturally stop. It is not forced to stop, it just collapses in your presence. The aim is not to stop thinking, that is just a side effect that occurs. The aim is to grow in the recognition of what you are present AS, when thinking is absent.

@@selfinquiryschool the day I came to know about advantage of being in the present moment, it had strong positive impact in my life. But I am a patient of bipolar disorder and depression, I have been suffering from past 21 years. So sometimes my mind is so negative and upset that I fear from doing anything. And sometimes in meditation I attain a state where I have raised myself above my mind.

I try to stay present but I get flashbacks and intrusive thoughts, my mind constantly takes me back to the past and the more I resist the worse it gets,my past was and still is extremely painful and confusing for me,I can't maintain relationships of any kind because I'm overwhelmed with fear and it controls me and I don't know how to make it stop.

This is a wonderful vid and mostly I received that; how I know the practice of mindfulness, but how ephemeral the practice can be. We must be mindful of mindfulness. For most of us enmeshed in our narrow focused world where we behave as human doings, not spiritual beings, it’s content like yours that is a powerful tool that will guide us and help keep us on the mindful path. Like alcoholics, we are addicts to our thinking, and like alcoholics, we need to take care of ourselves on a daily basis. much like addicts and alcoholics attend 12 step programs. Which makes me very excited to see that you have created support groups to assist those that discover you. thank you Sunny.

It was very helpful when you described thinking as a ‘contracted’ state. Up to then I had seen thinking as a powerful adversary of Being, but now it seems weaker than that and able to be controlled.

When u are feeling emotional discomfort such as anxiety whole mind is filled with thoughts to get rid of it..and when there is conflict with someone it is very difficult to stay present..what should i do in above two cases...

May I recommend the buddhist nun Pema Chondra? And extremely wise person. She’s got a lot of KZbin videos from talks and interviews. She’s done.

Can you be present even tho you have something you deny in this moment? Meaning when the denial is coming from the egoic mind which is already an illusion. Like, it’s an idea of myself or something I’m unhappy with about myself. I feel I’m stuck in a pattern with something that went wrong in the past and has to do with how I look. I know it’s an illusion and the ego-mind pattern arising, yet I can’t seem to get out of this story. It creates alot of suffering. What do you suggest I work with? My thoughts are to go deeper in meditation to change my perspective of things. Yet I may stand at a paradox because I think what I’m refusing/not accepting, is holding me back to see it from a higher perspective/consiousness. I hope it makes sense. I just recently found your channel and I like your approach to these teachings. Thanks.

Sunny even when i feel relaxed in presence fear seeps through that i feel in my stomach. Even though im not thinking anything. Do i concentrate on it, watching without opinion for it to go?
