Many thanks for this. It takes the pressure off yourself, worrying day in day out, carrying a rucksack of heavy stones.Who wants that, a killer in itself. Your decisions, you may think are mistakes, could be more related to everything thats happened to you, so more like your soul talking and at the time you are unaware. Then afterwards theyre's a panic shift, you think someone else would hv made a different decision i.e. social comparison. You may think 100% you made the wrong decision but that was the path taken at the time, was out of the mind's control / a split second reaction. Either way a decision had to be reached and that was the outcome at the time.

You'll never fully STOP negative thoughts, feelings and memories. The older you are the harder it is. It is a constant battle, constantly vigilant. As you practice and practice they come less and less. But you WILL have to work on it EVERY SINGLE day for the rest of your life. There is no quick fix, except maybe medication

My experience aligns with the post. I've spent decades knowing to let the past go, practicing forgiveness, acceptance, and releasing the "story". I sit with my emotions with compassion daily. As much as I seek to give myself love, I just cannot seem to ever feel it. Also, I just cannot resolve having missed a childhood due to a mentally ill mother, absent father, abusive siblings. I see how my wife loves her daughter and my inner voice says "What about me? When do I get loved and feel the delight of my mother?" So far, self love does not address the missing caress of a loving mother that I never received.

Correct, you will never stop negative thoughts. The goal is not to stop them but rather to witness them in order to detach from them. In this process negative thoughts lose their power.
@artisticvisions778 ай бұрын
Pretty pessimistic attitude. With that mentality, you are right. Your negativity will always be with you to “sum” degree. Or you can let it go completely. The people who believe that is not possible, will always struggle to “sum” degree.

Hey Todd, great wisdom again. Ty! I was wondering if you, or anyone else, knows literature specifically about the mind/ego and how it works and why it does what it does. I know being with it and observing is key, but I feel like some intellectual input as well, since I’m wandering between ego and spirit pretty much hourly, which is really exhausting. Much love, keep up the good work ❤️🍀

Thank you Todd for this beautiful video. I listened to this while sitting on the floor, on the balcony watching my surroundings. I am curious - how do you respond to constant complaining around you, if ever? From my end, I understand that it's about your own inner peace as well not to take on other people's complaining and I also know it's our own responsibility to step away from it to protect our energy. I'm just curious about your thoughts and spiritual beliefs on this.

I adopted a dog knowing it might be a bad fit in my life. It turned out to be a bad fit, I had to let him go. Since I can’t drive my sister had to take him back which was traumatic for her and the dog. She felt I should have tried harder even though he was ruling my life (Australian cattle dog which required more activity than I could muster) i bear this guilt for her trauma and for his, I just can’t let go…

nope. i tried that. i tried 'forgiving' the harmful person. doesnt work. i will never release her, never not absolutely hate her, never understand her. i will carry the burden. yes. i find joy in any suffering she has. she is the devil incarnate, it's not just human nature, what she did to my family. if that is 'human nature', then there is no hope for the human race. the frog may just be being a frog, but humans should be, and can be, KIND AND LOVING. not cruel, not deliberately vicious....oh i do blame myself for part of what happened, but she chose to hurt, not help. nope, i dont agree that i am 'hating life itself', not in this instance. it took me almost 20 years of my life to accept the loss of our daughter, and what led to it. i am not connecting to you in this talk. i am sorry.
