Just the mainstream music sucks for the most part. The underground/indie music is fantastic. I found out that each music genre has its gems in the underground scene, even hip hop, that today in the mainstream sucks so much. Haven't find good underground pop rock yet though. I think that might just not exists lol. Edit: the Dø are quite good in my opinion, depending on the songs, I think they can be considered indie pop rock. I forgot I had them in my spotify.
@nickn27945 жыл бұрын
@ĸнιтe нernandez well, yes and no. Mainstream music sucked even decades ago in my opinion, but there were even quite famous good artists. For example, in the 60s I think Beatles sucked so much, and they literally respresented the mainstream, but Cream or Hendrix, that were pretty famous, were amazing. In the 70s there were amazing bands, but from bands like Queen I would save just the hits, Iggy Pop and Bowie weren't great everytime. The 80s... well, the mainstream quite all sucked. So that's were you had to start the dig, beautiful indie genres were born in the 80s, hip hop, dream pop, etc. The 90s same, the mainstream was terrifying, omg how much do Blur and Oasis suck honestly? And Britney Spears? And the Backstreet Boys?? So much shit, and that was the mainstream. Thank god there were Nirvana, that were in fact an underground band despite the fame, but I wouldn't say they were the best of the genre and they weren't the best musicians, they had a beautiful sound though in my opinion. You needed to dig in the 90s too, to find Tortoise, Fugazi, Morphine, Low, Slint. Then Radiohead arrived, stole a bit here and there from the underground, and everyone thought they revolutioned who knows what in what way... So, you're right but even in the past decades it sucked and not always good music was just right there, 80s and 90s were dark times, at least now we have Internet and you only need to google "good [insert genre] band" to find things, youtube actually helps you and you can even listen to the past's music, all for free, it's honestly amazing.
@thenetgamer25 жыл бұрын
The saying I've heard most is "They don't make music like they used too." My relatives always said that music lacked something it used to have in many folds. I believe that mainstay music lacks, soul, emotion, something you can feel in this song. Maybe it has something to do with the purpose, and intent of a song, some are made to entertain, others are made to tell a story. To some people, maybe it's that difference that makes music good.
@nickn27945 жыл бұрын
Fringe Wizard it was rather the opposite. That all started in the 60s. Rock has always been about rebellion, revolution of the social costumes, even drugs even if they are bad and fuck your braim, for the time, the 60s, it was rebellion to talk about it, and unconfortable songs about drugs and sex and politics were banned from radios. You know if those people hadn't fight, social costumes would have been the same of the 50s, aka pretty bad and bigots. Bands like the Beatles were born to fill a void, to take "rock" to the white people that wanted nothing of the revolution of rock music (read about the counterculture of the 60s), that was talking about politics, sex (people were electroshocked if bisexual or gay!), and other unconfortable things, that Beatles never sang, they wanted to reach teens and white wealthy people. Bob Dylan, that was born a jew, sang songs about war, pacifism, his songs helped, led to manifestations, read the lyrics of Masters of War. Lou Reed, the frontman of Velvet Underground, probably the most significant band of the 60s, born a jew too, taked the provocation to a whole another level, influencing a lot with his attitude the punk movement of the 70s that would have been the most rebellious one (example God Save the Queen by Sex Pistols). Lou Reed was the first bisexual rockstar, and the first to do coming out. He always wanted to incarnate the figure of the bad guy, and that reflected in his music. He had been electroshocked, he believed it was because of his bisexuality it was in real probably for mental problems caused by drugs. By the way, he had a degree in journalism, and he depicted the life of the streets in his songs, before hip hop and rap, that were not mainstream genres once and talking about those themes was meant to attract attention on those thematics, the industry eventually turned all of that into profit. All mafia bosses are catholics. That doesn't mean all catholics are bad, or that all bad people are catholics. Same goes for jews, muslims, etc. I'm not saying the governments and bla bla aren't shit of course. Of course now junkies want certain drugs to be legalized because they are not bad they say, it's not true, trust me I know schizophrenic people that took those drugs. Everything that can cause allucination can cause a damage, even just marijuana, a friend of mine, poor guy, started to hear voices. Science isn't even sure of what dependence is, so... Edit: I forgot, Lou Reed also talked about sex, but it was a provocation. Songs like Venus in Furs, about BDSM, were meant to provoke.

I feel like this is the first album that I’ve ever listened to that has left me completely dumbfounded as to how amazing it is with a huge range of vibes that it gives me like speedcore, sorta like Tool, really strong Doom and Wolfenstein vibes, Doomcore (if that even exists), Djentcore (again, if that even exists) and like this weird hyper-fusion vibe of Prog Heavy Power Metal which sounds like a metalhead madman’s dream. Unfortunately, my mind sucks with puzzles, and I could never get better at them. But MBR puzzles look like a lot of fun. KZbin's suggestion algorithm doing it's work. First time here and in the first few seconds I'm hooked. MBR draws you in and keeps you there. I sample a lot of music and I can't even count frisson level music on one hand. MBR induces intense, long frisson I haven't felt in a long time. The only other avant-garde I listen to is Diablo Swing Orchestra, MBR is on their level of epicness. Thank you MBR. For making me feel like a god again.
