This hobby sky is the limit. I have been in this hobby since around 1972. Now I am 60 and still keep fish all different types discus,angel,gourami,mollies,barbs, sharks,bettas. I remember as a child in 70s carrying fish in aluminum tins abroad to gulf from madras via bombay with a lid that had holes for fish to breath and the only way to keep the fish alive was water change. Those days aluminum frame tanks and actually mortality rate was low considering the equipment available then. Probably the genetic were better and fish weren't packed in crowded conditions and thrown from pet shop to pet shop as they are today. Too much inbreeding and f1,f2,f3 have taken a toll because fish would stop breeding after f3. Fish with dyes injected its a pity. Better to keep plastic fish. I saw discus for the first time in 1992 in madras. Times have changed. New medications and newer sickness. Too many companies manufacturing too many equipments. But the basics are same.
