Two of the grandchildren came by a month ago. They spent summers there and said it was not very livable then. They appeared to like all the changes. There were 11 children of the Marquis's generation and 30 grandchildren (if I am remembering what Stephanie said). Up in the attic area in that hallway they just cleaned up a month ago, there were cubicles, not rooms for extra beds when Stephanie first arrived. Remember that Stephanie put in lots of loos and showers in each bedroom also. She hid them in the thick walls and closets. 😘😘😘😘

I have often been described as a bit dramatic but I had a tear in my eyes when I saw the marquise salon it’s not just the style it’s the fact that you absolutely did it the way it should have been done you did not cut any corners you used solid wood and beautiful elaborate cornices as a classically trained artist I could not have asked for anything to be done more professionally or in keeping with the 16th century nature of the building You should be very proud of yourself very few museums are able to duplicate this quality of work

It was a brilliant idea to use a tapestry design for wallpaper All the existing superlatives wouldn't be enough to describe the craftmanship skills of Amaury within this room. People have admired the skills of the master craftsmen in all previous centuries and there is no doubt that Amaury is a master craftsman of the 21st Century. Well done Amaury! Stephanie, I know your wonderful videos have been seen by thousands of people and will continue to spread around the world but this craftmanship should also become known to the hierarchy of the Art and Restoration world too. Perhaps your contacts in Christies should be invited to Lalande to see it! If the removal panel to enable wiring to be installed and maintained behind it, has not been done before by anyone else, perhaps Amaury could submit the design for a patent. The hidden door is an amazing addition to the room and yet another example of Amaury's amazing precision skills. Is the design of the coving an original or a copy of an existing design?
