We've al been there, I certainly have been in both situations a bit too often. You can't stop playing until you break your losing streak, really brings out the worst chess, just attacking without any regard of what the opponent is doing.

You are the most instructive Chess streamer on youtube. Agadmator is really serious. Levy is fun. Hikaru is too fast and hard to understand what he is doing. must say they all are good channels. On a side note is anyone sick of people saying the word "content" for everything? You actually used the word correctly, content creator is acceptable. But I swear people are complimenting people's joke by saying "haha that's such good content" or saying about a story: "wow man, that story was some crazy good content". This is a joke but I swear one time Levy talked like that about one of his jokes immediately after it happened and this happens in all gaming.

Yeah if he is new and rose the rankings fairly quickly, it’s totally possible at that level to have not run into the Sicilian enough to bother learning it.
@archiebellega9563 жыл бұрын
@@michael8815 Also try the Ponziani-steinitz gambit variation (if I'm not wrong), where you play Nxe4 then qh4 when they try to fried liver you. It's not as good as traxler positionally ofc, but you get mate in like 1 more moves if they don't realize it (mainly because they tend to only study the traxler variation). If they play Nxf7, Qh4, if Nxe4, then d5 then at least you win your knight back (or knight+pawn for bishop), but mostly they get mated by Qxf2# if they're newbie enough (I got this position like 10 times, and get 5 mates, so that's quite often). If they play the Nxe4, then you're really down a pawn, but then again inviting fried liver means you're going to down a pawn regardless, plus you get your bishop pair. If they play Bxf7 though, then you have to play chess.

Daniel is by far my favorite chess content creator. He's incredibly instructive and explains things clearly in his analysis, is respectful when speaking about his opponents regardless of their rating, and his love and respect for the game are always apparent and infectious. No memes, drama, showing off, or clickbait. Just nice, wholesome, educational chess. Thank you, Daniel. You are a legend.

@phishhammer97333 жыл бұрын
@@JuliuSeizure Was not throwing shade at any chess content creators, just pointing out the reason I like Danya the most. I enjoy Levy's content as well, but for different reasons. I did not have any specific channels in mind when writing my comment. Though, if you read the list of things I mentioned and your first thought was that I must be talking about Levy, maybe there is a reason for that... As far as memes go, there's nothing wrong with them. I just appreciate that Danya's speedrun content is all focused on being productive and instructive. When I'm watching a video to try to improve, I'd rather not have to cut through the chaff of memes and jokes to get to the educational bits, that's all. It's my personal preference.

Danya’s analogy near the end reminds me of Dr. Frankfurter’s line in Rocky Horror Picture Show at the end of singing Sweet Transvestite “…So, I’ll remove the cause (evil chuckle) but not the symptom!” (Queue dramatic music) It’s good to know that even GMs appreciate classic movies. I always think it's funny when GMs are like 'I don't know how a 1400 could play like this'. Chess is slowly becoming an actual esport, people aren't playing to climb.
