Important to mention… When the piston is in the rest position, the brake fluid will be balanced via The compensation hole. This compensation hole is very small, clean this compensation hole with a very thin wire of copper, if it would clog… you are guaranteed a dragging caliper, this has already happened to me twice!!! with the Honda CBX 1000. Stay Safe.

ok so if you brake and there is a leak, it's made so you will still be able ton brake.. But.. Is it possible to have an oil leak in your brake lines without losing pedal pressure?

How does the brake fluid gets pumped around. Is there a pump for the brakes? The reason why I'm asking is because when the engine is turned off the brakes become harder to stop.
@ThomasSchwenke-knowledge Жыл бұрын
Yes, there is a pump :)

Very interesting video , i have a ram 3500 2022 , and every 2000 miles im loosing one or both rotors for the rear , the way this video shows its split front from rear so my guess is that the master brake cilynder has an internal leak and it's loosing vacum, and the rear rottors are dragging and overheating then vibration starts. Corect me if im wrong , Thx

What is the function of the breather port? What is the purpose of BRAKE CIRCUIT between two chambers? In auto industry using term ”cut off hole” Which one is cut off a hole here? I don't know my questions are dumb or what? Please reply with your explanation ASAP

I suggest getting rid of the music, I find it rather distracting. Plus, a little more effort on the thumbnail could be made. Good video, awesome animations.

in using this configuration, does one set of brakes got the pressure first? if so, is it the front?
@krisbham2 жыл бұрын
Yes, it does but in minimal content. In a diagonal circuits (Most of EU countries require it), You can see very slight uneveness of front L and R brake pad wear because of it. Plus when you suddenly hit the brake pedal as high speed, car sometimes momentarily wobbles sidewards (Yaw)- it just one diagonal breaks first ahead of other one. This is called a brake breasure lead. In the F and R split system, it is not noticeable (interestingly but then, the lead circuit is REAR not FRONT), because the hydraulic pressure wave has further to travel to the rear axle).

Right, Hans. I need that too, although they should be similar, probably with one piston only.

I don't quite get some things. - Is the smaller diameter shaft going thru the shaft of the 2nd (left) circuit only act as a guide and doesn't have any role on moving the 2nd circuit's rubber piston cup? -What's the stud for? And what is the valve head(?) connected to?

Perhaps I missed it but how does the master cylinder leverage the power of running engine and system of pullies and pumps? I'm asking as it relates to EV conversions. Is there such a thing as Electric brakes vs something driven by pullies and pumps?
@killer26005 жыл бұрын
Most vehicles utilize the manifold vacuum produced by the engine to give power assist to the brakes. The brake booster is the device that turns vacuum into brake pedal assist.
