I thought I was the only one cursed!! I actually used a ratchet strap hooked one in to my truck bumper and got it tight, and hit with hammer and it did not budge Thanks very much for video.

Great video. I have a 2001 honda civic. It is fused to brake booster.I tied a rope around master cylinder. PB balster. I attached it to the rear of the vehicle. NG. I think I will try to cut off the ears. That was a great tip but it is tight. Just about 4 hours working on this. I hope the ear trick works.

I just ran into the same issue. I was ready to try your method and cut the ears off but before I did I went back and forth with an air hammer and slight outward pressure with other hand and it took less than a minute.

I have a similar problem on a Dodge Intrepid. The pedal went to the floor and there were no brake lines leaking like I first suspected. I heard from a friend who use to be in the repair business that being there is no fluid in the master cylinder it must of leaked right inside the booster. He said if I plan on reusing the booster I better suck out all the brake fluid that is sitting in the booster. He said he did many of those cars and replaced the booster at the same time when he sees them leaking in the back of the Master Cylinder. Looking to save my booster. Working on it this weekend.

Wow! That is hard to believe. That mc normally would just fall off were it not for the retaining nuts. In fact, I wonder whether applying the brake might have caused the booster to push off the mc.
