2:56 same bro. I was at Master 2 just tryna make it to 1 before the season is out. Ended up sliding all the way back down to Master 4. It's really hard to deckbuild for this format, genuinely. Gimmick Puppet FTK means you need exactly imperm(s) and/or Ghost Belle in your hand. Tenpai means you need the gas to make a practically unbreakable board going first - not to mention there's both board breaker and hand trap tenpai🤦‍♂ Lab means you need mass backrow removal or you simply lose the game to D-barrier (and other bs) loops Every other random ass deck is playing some kinda floodgate(s) cuz they wanna counter tenpai - so you either need backrow removal, a bunch of handtraps to stop them from getting their other game plan going, or blowout board breakers to try and counter them going second. The issue is that if you choose to decrease your deck's consistency by running a bunch of backrow removal or board breakers, you will get ass blasted by Tenpai 14/15 times; if you totally neglect backrow removal, you die to floodgates. Then, the cherry on top: if you focus on a gas only deck, you die to Maxx "C". As if we didn't have enough conflicting deck building choices to make, every deck has to run the anti-Maxx "C" package just to not insta lose to the card every single time. Without exaggeration, this game is genuinely unplayable at the higher ranks right now. It literally comes down to 100% luck - you gotta pick your poison and hope that it's enough to beat the decks you built for, while in the other matchups...you gotta hope you get lucky and your opponent bricks or your sacky Maxx "C" resolves. If we had a best of 3 or even a choice between which deck we choose when we win/lose the coin toss, maybe it would help things out but as of right now, this format needs a major overhaul (also pls Konami, limit Phantom of Yubel, I beg).

Man I feel ya on this game at the moment. Im currently playing MD while watching this and I had to scoop like 5 times straight due to stun, Tenpai, floodgates, back to back. I recently got to Diamond 5 and it has been a struggle ever since to win back to back games to rank up. So I definitely understand where you coming from about this game man, hopeful things will get better when the Meta switch again, Fiendsmith and bans probably lol. Dude, agree. IRL the "pros" whined about Tenpai for one reason or another, but almost to a person the real reason they hated the deck was because it was budget friendly to us poors. They usually whispered that last part. Tenpai is a good deck. Does it suck to lose to it? Yeah. But I've lost to Dark Magician. ANd honestly I respect tenpai more than Branded with its 25 minute combos with 4 negates and 1 million quick effect actions.

But it makes me better at the game since it helps me understand how they all work and their choke points. Nut not everyone can afford to always build the new competition decks. And most of them get raplaxe every one to two months.

I don’t think it’s the decks, but the coin flip ratios. I’ve had days where I opened the app to play some games and get 6-7 tails in a row. I’ve never had that luck with getting heads. I think the most I’ve gotten is like 4 heads in a row and that happened maybe 4-5 times total. For some decks, if you set up a good enough turn 1 board, then Tenpais can’t play through them. But getting heads 2/10 games on average is just bullshit.

Every time a new top-tier deck comes out. Most people buy the packs. Then they hit the deck until it is weak to sell you the next best deck. No matter how busted or frustrating the deck is, it doesn't matter because it makes money, and the player base doesn't do anything about it.

That's tough man. I think you basically have to play decks that can run a shit load of hand traps OR play decks that ignore a lot of mechanics (like Trap Lab). I've been playing Mathmech this season. 15 HTs. I think I went like 21-3 in the Duelist Cup. Currently 11 winstreak in ranked. Been playing a lot less this season though than a few seasons back so I understand for sure.

But it's crazy to me that I have to play a top-tier deck or play how everyone else plays. Because if I don't, I lose to the main 3 or 4 toptier decks. If I picked up mathmech, I would wash almost every other deck in the game ints so good. Plays through a bunch of hand traps. Sets up and inane board. Has a bunch of extenders, and you can play a bunch of handtraps yourself 🤣💯. Deck is nuts. But no one likes watching gameplay on it.

Master 3 is the furthest I've been too, but playing few games out there I felt Master 1 is very possible even for a casual MaxxC hater like myself - it just takes extra hours and motivation to keep trying, against all the odds and RIDICULOUSLY TERRIBLE LUCKS you WILL have every once in a while. And not everyone can afford that time and other resources for various valid reasons. Especially in the last 3 months, my gf pushed me to try a bit harder as I do streaming weekly, but I have to conclude that under the current system MD is a GAMBLE GAME by nature, unless there'll be an update in the future - with minimum guarantee of winning the coin flip after losing it XX times or something, just like at least 1 UR guarantee on buying 10 packs. P.S. Thrust > Starlight Road > Stardust Dragon felt really fun and efficient to punish the brainless fire dragons♡

Honestly bro I got to Diamond 2 with a 7 game win streak with Centur-Ion/Toy Box/White Forest with 60 cards just for it to end against Labrynths, Yubel and Maxx Fkin C. Got put all the way down to Diamond 4 now so im done. Tenpai players are annoying but I honestly rather play against them then Labrynths and Yubel. Im only playin ladder now for dailies/gems thats it
