I wonder myself why jiu jitsu people are throwing themselves on the ground to fight, most martial arts aim to get either on the back of the attacker or the attacker on the ground so they have a hard time evading hits.

Because they focus on ground combat while, as you say, most other arts don't. They try to move the combat to an area where they are more experienced in. Look at the history of MMA: There was next to no ground play initially and when the first fighters showed up that were proficient in ground combat, they mopped the floor with everyone that didn't know what to do. And those were bjj fighters. Now, things have changed and everybody focusses ground combat as well. It's debateable if it is still a good strategy to lure your opponent into ground fights ... I guess it depends on your opponent.

@@Puschit1Since i learned that the gracie family hosted the first tournaments themselves and handpicked opponents, i am not the biggest fan. Although i liked compilations of the fights.Talking about initially, Before the brazilians there were already shoot wrestling, pankration and others in ground fighting. But they did not go with the idea of going to the ground as fast as possible, cause you end there anyway. They have been taken by surprise first, but they adapted very fast and were superior after that.

Regarding the history, i for myself still struggle with the idea of dog boxing and the fighting method to drag people like a police dog.

I guess I saw an orangish bass yesterday?? that had plans to drown me while I was in Lake Michigan yesterday.(hopefully not someone else).When I first moved heard details (local news) regarding drownings around the area..An unsettling number and amount. that didn't make sense to me. I have been searching for clues and (GUT Feeling) and putting myself out there in such a way to attract would be assassin/murderers. There were two yesterday. (This wouldn't be the first time I've come across incidents where two were in involved in some kind of malevolence activities that want to make others suffer or die (Im being serious. It seems they always work in a team at least from 90's on till now) I noticed an individual later come near my area that had on a wetsuit (no one else on entire beach was wearing wetsuit) that matched the colors I saw come close to me. Then I started looking around and someone else came running along beach that had on a wet suit as well said a few things to the other person they split ways. One went into water the other kept on running along waters edge in other direction. Update on drowning so far this year I haven't even heard of anyone drowning in the area or around. Although I am keeping look out for something to happen closer to winter time but not during winter. If something bad is going on they'll want to hit Thier mark before water gets to Cold. (The last drowning I heard of happened around that time 2 years ago) I figure they don't want to be Cold when they accomplish what evil is in Thier hearts. The other person was for confirmation I guess to see if anyone notices person gone and then goes along and picks up Thier towel or possessions (cover thier tracks so to speak.)
