I've been going over and over this series, it has been such a big help and I'm finally starting to get this down. It would feel wrong not to buy you a drink for all your hard work. Genuinely, thank you, best guitar lessons going 🙏

This is the first metal song I've learned entirely. I just wanted to say thanks Carl, I've learned the entire song in about 3 months thanks to you. It was challenging but your lessons made it so much easier. Keep up the good work dude.

This song saved me during April of 2020, it sounds crazy but I don’t think I would still be here if it weren’t for this song and guitar keeping me sane. It means so much that I’m now able to play it on the instrument that saved my life, and it truly is all thanks to you, I can’t express my gratitude enough.

a song that looks and sound so hard and impossible to play. under the hands of such a great teacher like you man, even when someone like me, a complete newbie who doesnt know shit about how to read fucking guitar tabs (i know the very basic but suck at reading it) can even understand what youre teaching and knows what to practice and knows how to play. Merci Beaucoup.

Just the endurance needed to be downpicking this for like 3 minutes straight, and the dexterity to actually properly hit all the palm mutes and the frettings in the main riff is quite simply insane Not even mentioning actually composing this whole thing and playing it deadass, it's such an epica of a song

Awesome as usual!! Its so crazy to think how far metal has come. I remember listening to Metallica on a cassette tape that my friend copied for me. People would look at me like I was a crazy maniac because I was listening to metal , ...Now it has become so part of the culture that symphonies and elementary school bands cover their songs.

What are your thoughts on the phrase at 4:46....i notice you alternate pick there, but in the first video you do all downstrokes. Do you normally mix and match on this song? I'm trying to "master" this song, and trying to get it all using only downstrokes which is definitely a challenge, but it's much easier to play with alternate picking, obviously.
@psteeg35518 жыл бұрын
alt pick is easier but probably will not give the same sound as downstrokes only, so... yeah, either choose the easy one or the better sounding one ;) you're not obliged to do downstrokes only, but just be aware that it does not give the same sound
