My favourite thing about current Metallica, is after all these years, through the fights and sever alcohol addiction, they overcame everything and you can tell they're so proud of it. And they should be. You can feel the happiness that filled the room while also seeing it in their faces in this video that they're so happy to be themselves and to be alive today.
@GamERsEmielRobin6 жыл бұрын
Everyone mentions the 1989 performance of the song and that it's way better and they can't play anymore.... So I watched the performance and it was amazing, but just take a look at James he was not himself you could see that they were fucked up on alcohol and drugs. He now has kids and he is happy and with the new album Metallica is sounding better than ever.
@fatherandsontheretrogamers70386 жыл бұрын

James as far as i know didnt take drugs, he was only addicted to alcohol. And as far as i know the other members didnt have any addiction issues, just James. After the rehab James was simply a different man, and for the better of course. We are all happy that today he lives a healthy life and that he and his band can still perform live very well. However, the 80s and early 90s was the best era for metallica and metal in general. And for me, any concert from 88-89, and especially the seattle 89 is the best metallica performance ever. I personally dont think that they played so aggressively because of the alcohol or drugs..sure, maybe the alcohol helped into that, but back then you could see that they were hungry and filled with energy. They were young, living the moment, putting out their best selves and that was fucking awesome. Its not that “they we’re consumed by alcohol and drugs, they were so doomed back then”. Thats bullshit, metallica was never like that, and james' real problem with alcohol came in the load era, were they were still performing great and pretty aggressively, but definitely not as close as in the 80s.
