I started playing this game again after not playing since about 2005 back in December. I didn't care that Dark Magician wasn't really good, I love that card and played it! The interesting thing is I built something really similar to this (missing a few of these) and its been working really well. I am currently diamond 5! Love the content. Keep it up.

I am Playing a DM-Deck in locals since 3 years. I know better versions in locals. in MD this might be good too. I just see problems going first with bystials, cause u don´t want to banish DM or DMG.

Super Poly is definitely a viable way to play Dark Magician, but an alternative way to play would be running Evenly Matched, which frees up extra deck space for things like Chaos Angel (this plus Dragon Knight with Eternal Soul is nasty), Guardian Chimera, and maybe even Zeus for going second. And if you're running 3 Ash, which I don't think is super necessary in DM, you could even try to make space for a Baronne. I know you can send them with Souls, but running 3 TTTalent doesn't make much sense since it's once per turn. Replacing at least one of them for TTThreat would make sense. Double Circle and double Eternal Soul also aren't optimal imo since they're searchable and recyclable. If you wanted to double up on any DM spell that's normally run at 1, I would suggest Secrets because it can help to turbo out Dragon Knight, especially in a build that runs Bystials. Cutting down on some of these cards would leave more space for handtraps, which I think this deck is just a couple short of and would help it's competitive viability. Edit: there's also no reason I can think of to run Link Spider over Imduk.

Agreement. I run most of this. I really enjoy piercing the darkness. Crazy good. I run two chaos angel. Mahad + chaos angel is gods gift to dm decks. I’ve had dark law in my deck for a while now. Nice when rod is negated I get out dark law and still get the effect. Since I need to soul servant mahad out to get chaos out. But I like it as a back up option rn. I run lubellion mirror jade predaplant fallen albaz as a nice back up combo. Pull branded and you get lub in defense and dragon knight. If your combo fizzles and you have two monsters. You can pred into mirrorjade. I have psychic end punisher. It’s just fun and a great card. Not used 7 of 10 games. If you have dragon knight and eternal soul out and you draw ash you can summon it summon end and eternal soul dragon knight right away. Number 11 is a nice option too.

Im very new so sorry if this is a dumb question. I am interested in using Baronne instead of one of the extra deck cards in the video, but are you suggesting using ash as tuners for summoning baronne, since the deck has no other tuners? wouldn't you want to keep them in your hand instead? Also one more question: which hand traps would you suggest would you suggest if I were to cut down one of the eternal souls?

I might experiment with this. I've made it to Platinum 2 with my pure DM deck, but after encountering Bystials every other duel, it's become clear to me that they're just too powerful of an archetype to ignore anymore.

I’ve seen you make the same misplay all the time when you have Soul Servant and Circle in hand. Maybe I’m just bad. Wouldn’t it be better to chain servant to the activation of circle to stack salvation guaranteeing you hit it and are able to draw it? You did it after which made you have to banish servant to get the card

Sure bystials and dangers and hand traps help out a deck, just wish they were arch type specific. I usually end up making two decks, one that's competitive and one that's fun
