Here's a good example. Articulating the /ktk/consonant cluster: a) lock /lɒk/ (/k/ released or not) b) locked /lɒkt/ (/k/ unreleased and /t/ released) c) a locked car /ə lɒkt kɑːr/ (In /ktk/, only the last /k/ is released)
