@@C5Pets everyone starts somewhere. No channel ever starts polished. Think of your stream as like a canvas. It takes time to develop into what you envision. There's a video on my channel where I show how my stream evolved over time.

Just an FYI, the eye contact option in Nvidia Broadcast is really distracting in KZbin videos, its more suited for a zoom call where you're one of a number of heads on the screen lol

Thank you for the feedback. I have a massive green screen behind me and I'm trying to have something in the background at least more interesting than a green wall. I'm 100% open to suggestions on how to make that more visually appealing.

The greenscreened background is fine, it's the 'Eye Contact' option specifically in Nvidia broadcast that's the issue, gives you unnatural looking bugeyes (especially if you watch on desktop and not mobile) which is a bit distracting. I did mean this entirely from a helpful standpoint not trying to being derogatory. I wish you all the best.

Been using Nested Scenes for a little bit. Live programming that I am using OBS for uses the same closing scene as the Starting. Difference being the text changes. Works great to have both scenes easily changeable through 1 scene instead of both. That said, I was hoping to dive in a bit deeper. I am using 2 PTZ cameras where I need to have a Fade transition (or move slide whatever) and send a PTZ browser command. This would allow a change or shift of the camera preset position while bringing in the overlay. Right now I am having to click on the new preset and then scene transition, or like in a regular studio have a second camera set to offset position to transition in the overlay. Any thoughts?

If I'm reading this correctly, you want to have camera A in one spot and camera B fade into the same spot. If that's the case, then I would recommend installing exceldro's move source plugin for OBS studio. With that I would have a scene with both cameras and apply a color correction filter (I think that's the one) to allow for opacity change. Then apply the move value filter via the move source plugin, and set to opacity for 0. Then set another move value the same way, but to 100. Then hotkey those move values so you can fade in and out as needed. To save on PC resources, I'd also hide the camera not being used once the transition is done as to not be having to render both cameras at the same time all the time. For my live streams I automate this entire process with streamer.bot. I have some videos that cover some of these generalized ideas if you need. But I would say that the move source plugin is what you are needing for your setup at least.

@@OSUPhoenix13 Actually, I am able to easily transition from one camera (A no overlay) to the next (B with overlay). That's the current set up. I want to use the same camera (A- Scene1), but send the Browser/HTTP command to shift the camera slightly left or down and set in the overlay(A-Scene2). This would leave Camera B for another angle/view readily available. I am trying to stay away from digital zooms which previously offered multiple zooms/positions from a single view.

@@chrish7336 ok, I see. Still move source plugin. But this time you would use two move source filters on camera A. You would use the scene source on your main overlay. You would set position 1 to one filter and position 2 to another filter. I believe I demonstrate that similar function on my plugin video and the back half. You can set position, size, rotation as you would like. If there's an overlay on top of it set a hotkey to hide/unhide as needed. I believe this is the solution your are looking for.

@@chrish7336 if you are talking move the camera position itself, as in the ptz camera moves, I unfortunately don't have much knowledge on that. It would require coding that I'm still learning myself.

@@OSUPhoenix13 Thanks, It's been a fun but hectic journey since what I put together is tested live. Not the best way to test things out. I do know I can send position commands, I just need to figure out how to get it all tied in with the transitions. Would make it much easier not having to press multiple buttons to make it work. Groups in a scene are good if the items in that group only belong to one scene. It keeps everything together and uniform to help prevent moving the wrong item. Scene nesting is the same, but far more beneficial if you need the same group of items in multiple scenes. For example, if you have a border for your webcam video that also includes something like scrolling text or alerts, having that all done in a scene then allows you to put that same set in any other scenes. If I play Apex on one scene, my camera needs to be in spot X. If I'm playing fortnite, my camera needs to be in spot Y. By using the scene the camera setup was built in, you can have different scenes for different games and keep the layout the same for each game and never have to move it manually. Additionally, if you start getting into more advanced tricks with OBS it opens up more options. For example, I made a digital printer for my subscribers. In one scene I have the image of the printer. Another scene I made a receipt. I put the receipt scene in the scene with the printer so the receipt scene will move up like it's being printed. Then I take the printer scene (that includes the receipt scene) and applied it to my scene that I stream and animate the printer popping up. What this method has allowed me to do is make changes to the receipt without having to worry about clicking the printer or anything on my stream scenes. The ease of managing individual elements becomes easier. Additionally, when I make something for someone who needs something animated in OBS, I make it in a single scene and export that scene for to them that all they have to do then is add the new scene into anything they want. I hope this made sense and helped!

@@C_055IE exactly. One of the best things for me is that there's far less sources per scene for me to have to look through. I've built so much in my OBS that if I didn't scene nest, the list of sources in a single scene would be nightmarishly long.

@@C_055IE it depends. So, if all the different scene are active in the current scene, it can slow things down, but it depends on how many things you have. If it's basically the same stuff you'd have by grouping, you won't see a difference. But if you get crazy like me, it can slow things down. With that, if you click on the eye icon, you can deactivate it and save your PCs resources. I control a lot of that with a program called streamer.bot (small tutorial video on my channel). This way manage my active scenes and sources to keep my PC efficient.

Nice, I’ve been playing around using paint and power point, but that turned out to be fruitless.

The problem with paint is that it won't apply the alpha channel you need even if you save as a PNG. Try using GIMP, a free image editor (like Photoshop) that can save alpha channels. Then anything you did in paint, you can take out areas to be transparent. Stay tuned as I am making a video about free tools to use, such as gimp.

@@OSUPhoenix13 I Have been using Gimp myself, and starting to work with Inkscape for Vector Graphics. Also for some video creations I have worked with Blender a bit. One thing about Blender is that I am not able to save/export the video file with a transparent background. So when I know I need the transparency, I set a crazy color (pink/green etc) as the background and then use the filters in OBS to remove it.

@@chrish7336 if you are trying to do animation in blender with a transparent background, you need to set the file and encoder to .webm and make sure that it's set to rgba and not RGB so it applies the alpha channel. The rgba always catches me off guard because it always defaults to RGB.
