I just ordered one of these synths after having a epid fail with a Roland SH4d... not gonna lie, im really glad the Roland failed on me because this synth is a beast! I've been going through the manual while waiting for it to arrive and OMG the power of this synth is crazy! Thanks for this video. It may come in handy for me with a new device. One thing I will say to anyone looking to buy one of these... make sure you have a good shop around for a new one before being ripped off on ebay or reverb for a second hand one. A few second hand ones were listed for around £535.00 plus shipping. I got a brand new one with full g-tee for £560 at "Music Matter" so just be mindful

v2.0 included some great updates for this amazing value synth - nice overview. Lightshow still plays at max brightness (even if you set pad dim), if you want to save your screen lifetime, you need to keep lightshow on, but when that delay is up and you are sitting in a dark room it can be quite an eye blasting.. My solution whilst we await a future update is to cover the pads with some taped down card, since I only use a keyboard to play notes. Alternative would be no light show but an option to just turn screens off after a few minutes. Fingers crossed for an update to that.

Thank you for this videos. I’m currently taking you mastery course part one, and I was wondering if the Hydrasynth specific knowledge taken on this course can it be applied to other synths such as substractive traditional synth?

Hi! Yes of course :) The Hydrasynth shares similar concepts and routings to subtractive synths with some key differences such as analog oscillator basic shape options instead of wave table etc. I think once u learn the hydra you should be able to operate other synths. I find this with the full Arturia collection, and U-he synths after I learnt one or two synths I was Able to figure out most of the other synths too

Could do, I never use it for drums but can be done. I much prefer using Syntakt and Digitakt, but of octa too for drums

You can change it manually if your hydra isn’t slaving to a midi clock

I had two different computers one with Chrome browser and the other Edge and both rejected this download claiming a virus was present. Only Firefox would allow me to download it.

I’m on mac it didn’t detect anything, best to open a support ticket with ASM for clarity but I’m sure it’s fine

Playback speed is your friend :) stick it on x75 or x50. I usually watch tutorials in 1.5x and speed em up, if that fails a little coffee bump ☕️ 💪 If I get any more comments on pacing I will rethink my delivery speed but so far it seems to be the correct pace for everyone
