I always thought I am good manager for helping the team out and preparing things for them. That I showed them, that I am there for them and I don't shy away from work. But I AM overloaded and I am overworked and I do think sometimes it takes more time to explain to them what I want instead of doing it myself. Thanks for your videos, I am realizing, that I have a lot to learn and more growth to do.

Thank you Bernd, I have recently accepted a job as a procurement manager, and your videos are really helping to coach and teach me. Especially your advice on finding a mentor, I thought I had to ask someone. Now I know I can watch and learn from someone I see as a role model.

Such great representations of that boss we are all trying to avoid being! 👏 Another tip for new managers is to pride yourself on being crystal clear about what you expect from each team member. In most cases, if you are doing a clear job of articulating expectations and measures for success on a regular basis, you will find your employees thriving!

When as a new leader/manager you asks for the help to understand but junior team members avoid sharing the details and gives the insufficient info. What can we do as a new manager. Just because they have full info and data, they are giving hard time to new guy. What to do? Can you please advise?

How would you advise someone who has now been promoted above colleagues and has to manage them - along with any potential resentments?

My team has all lady staff and company expects me to cut down unnecessary leaves abd excuses could you guide me please if there is any better way to handle this on my first day as Sr. Manager

Hi Manpreet, if you get a response please share. I am also interested to know how to best handle this situation. For now I expect that if anyone asks for personal time off, they are entitled to it. I couldn't possibly know enough to reject their request for family responsibility leave or for emergency situations. However annual leave requests I think should be planned together with manager and employee. Would love to know from Bernd his thoughts.
