Hi guys, thank you for supporting my video lessons for 2 handed bowling over the past period. I’ve received quite many comments and messages asking about the concept of releasing the ball. I also try to ask myself how I can explain this concept to a newbie bowler, to help them quickly understand and execute the release. If you want to have a powerful yet effortless and consistent 2 handed release, this video is for you.

Thank you so much for this explanation! I've been trying to fix my release for the better part of a month, not knowing why my hand and fingers hurt. After your video I bowled 4 games and I'm now way more consistent with how I can hook the ball by just relaxing my arm on the release instead of trying to force a hook, and I can feel when my release is wrong much easier now that I know how it's supposed to feel. I can't thank you enough!

Your videos are the best. I just switched to 2 hand 2 weeks ago and I was able to throw the ball way better today during league. Ball roll and release were so much better because of the elbow in tip. Thank you. I love the explanations of the movements. It just makes so much more sense now.

Hi, thank you for continuing to post these helpful videos. I just realized as a new 2 hander that I was holding the ball too long on the 2nd step ( of five ) and that was restricting and shortening my swing and balance. So, letting the ball drop as the 2nd step is completed instead of holding/carrying the ball will get the ball into motion earlier and allow for a smoother stroke and balance at the end. 😄
@BowlismOutlaw
@BowlismOutlaw Жыл бұрын
Perfect bro, I do the same thing. Just leave it drop. We hold the ball with 2 hands so the weight of the ball is not a problem, just let it drop and swing. 😀

Hi Bowlism Outlaw, I just realized that your right foot ( after the crossover 2nd step ) does NOT cross in front of the left foot ( like One Handers ) but trails behind the left sliding foot. As a beginning 2 hander, I felt awkward trying to make the right foot on the 4th step step in front of the left foot. So, I need to practice this change ASAP. It seems that having the right foot trailing behind the left will keep the HIPS open to the right and allow easy ball downswing. This might be the adjustment I have been looking for ! THANKS !!!
@BowlismOutlaw
@BowlismOutlaw Жыл бұрын
Hi Paul bro. Let me explain a bit here. "...right foot ( after the crossover 2nd step ) does NOT cross in front of the left foot ( like One Handers ) but trails behind the left sliding foot" => I do that with intention to moderate the ball launch angle. I explained it here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/n3rMd4V_jat6hdE "I felt awkward trying to make the right foot on the 4th step step in front of the left foot...." => Actually you don't need to do that. The 4th step of 2 handed style is a hop step, meaning a fast step. So you definitely can not make the 4th step in front of the left foot. It's natural. "...the right foot trailing behind the left will keep the HIPS open to the right and allow easy ball downswing" => Actually the hips open due to the 1st drift step (kzbin.info/www/bejne/n3rMd4V_jat6hdE) . I don't intentionally trail my right leg. It automatically trails because my hips have already open during the approach :D

I’m having trouble keeping my arm straight on the downswing, How Jason Belmonte or Kyle Troup does. I know the swing is different for everyone but I do see this as a constant, so that that the hand can stay and under the ball. Does Anyone have tips on how to achieve this. Love your Vids By the way Bowlism best 2 hand information on KZbin right now.
@BowlismOutlaw
@BowlismOutlaw 10 ай бұрын
Hi Ejaytee bro 😎. Thank you for supporting my channel. I do really ask myself a lot about the “straight arm” during the down swing. I suspect that it depends on the length of the non-bowling arm. Imagine, both arms are equal in length. If you straighten your bowling arm, your non-bowling arm should be longer to keep holding the ball, otherwise the ball might fall off your bowling hand. Is that right? Some bowlers have their non-bowling arm even longer than their bowling arm, so the “straight arm concept” works for them. I don’t think this concept should be a benchmark for all bowlers. What do you think?

@@BowlismOutlaw The hard part is probably getting used to tucking your elbow in towards your midsection as you put the ball into motion. Most people place their elbow at their hip area because that is where they're the most comfortable with.
@BowlismOutlaw

@jayvallandingham2406 yes, you’re right. But it’s not difficult to tuck elbow in. So we know it, we can utilize the tuck and optimize the release. Very simple 😀

14lb vs 15lb which one is better?
@BowlismOutlaw
@BowlismOutlaw 11 ай бұрын
It depends on your physical condition bro. I’m 5 feet8 and around 172lbs weight. I use 15lbs bowling ball. But I’d rather use 14lbs ball because I can have more control over its weight. The more you can control the ball, the better it is.
@BowlismOutlaw
@BowlismOutlaw 11 ай бұрын
Imagine a bigger size bowler holding a 15lbs bowling ball and a smaller size bowler holding it. The bigger and stronger bowler would feel more comfortable controlling the bowling ball than the smaller one. So basically we can pick 14lbs or 15lbs bowling ball as long as we feel confortable controlling it. Controlling here is meant by you can feel relaxed holding the ball and keep your hands under the ball at the foul line when releasing it. We don't need to push your "ego" up and choose the heavy ball. :)
