Node elongation happens primarily at night. Also strong light intensity will affect plant height negatively to some degree. So the combination of very long light cycles during veg and a very strong light during stretch might cause some plants to become very short and bushy even after stretch and might become a bit of a problem if you have several different types of genetics under the same light.

One of my favorite things when growing is adjusting and experimenting with different nutrients, otherwise I would get the grow dots. It's just not for me, and I like to know exactly what's going into them which makes it a little bit harder with the dots. Because plants like different nutrients based on whether they are seedling, vegetative or flour. So I like to really, really Master the grow by providing the plants with necessary nutrients based on what stage they are in. The grow dots sound pretty cool though, wish I knew about those when I was starting out 20 years ago haha

So seeing how i supplement my perpetual harvest with auto flowers, i was curious to know if grow dots would be beneficial to the auto world. So i decided to try it out to let you know what's the score on the dots in junction with autos. I used about 6tsp in each pot. So light to medium on the feeding. And im going to completely flower in a 6inx5in pot so almost triple sized solo cup. Yup 😂. I figured seeing is how autos are kinda dicks and don't like their tap root to hit the bottom, im doing exactly that. So the dots were dropped into the Gelat OG on AUG 7th and the flower flipdate is SEPT 5th. I will definitely keep you posted. Hopefully i get to harvest.

If you want to keep the same DLI from 18 hours to 12, you need to add 50% light, not 33%. It is correct that it's 33% less hours but 50%, not 33% is needed to supplement. Do the math: 500ppfd over 18 hrs = 32.4 DLI 750ppfd (50% more light) over 12 hours = 32.4 DLI 30% more light would be 667 ppfd over 12 hours = 28.81 DLI

1 The 18-12 hours is just a basic rule and depends on the variety, so it may well be that an Indor variety blooms better with 13-16 hours. 2 If you want to maximize a variety, you always take the highest point flowering time, but the variety or fenotype must be known for this, this has the advantage that the yield increases due to the more hours of light, the disadvantage is that the plant takes longer to come into flower, because it is not in one notrytmuss switches like e.g. at 18 to 12 hours of light.3 You use the notrytmuss e.g. if you don't feel like cutting cuttings and you want to know whether the seedlings are male or female, 8 hours of light is enough for that, and the plant shows up a few days who they are, then place them again under 18-24 hours of light, but the seedlings should not be too young, otherwise the flowers will take longer to appear.
