hmmm 29. If a shear had to be shortened 4mm, I'm wondering if the rideline work ended up washing out the tip so the sharpener opted to shorten to remove washout? The other interesting would be how much the rideline dropped into the hollow grind? Was there excess edge steel removed causing a dip in the pivot area. A sign of excess rework.

Learned he immediately dropped them point down as he got them out of the box and the tip bent. I’m sure his resharpened of a new shear will be perfect. He should have called and got a new shear. Poor guy. I think it all rattled him.

Maybe the heat warped the metal from taking 1/4 of an inch off.?
