I see so many designers tryna make “beautiful” designs and it just ends up being too messy and a pain in the ass for us developers… THIS is what a good design looks like. Im tryna get better at designing cuz I am more of a programmer but I’d like to start my own local web design agency. Thank you for the video :)

Thank you! If you're also a developer, then it's the same concept of modular components. You can think of a layout as a reusable component but with different variations.

Love your videos. I am just starting out, an absolute beginner. And I'm confused, I'm watching your video and I think I get what your saying and you are showing good examples, but I keep wondering like don't all websites use to these layouts? (Not just the well designed ones) Could you maybe show some more examples of not so good design, I am just having a hard time telling the difference between just ok and excellent web design.

Helpful to see that I don't have to design layouts from scratch. Appreciate this🔥

Interactive components in web design, such as cartoons and hover effects, can increase user engagement and make your website more dynamic. However, it is critical to employ them sparingly to avoid overloading visitors.

It would be nice to see how theses designs change when in mobile.

I've tried to apply these 2-col section layouts in a few projects already, but it feels uncomfortable as many of those projects are expected to support dynamic content, where the "description" of each lock-up pattern can get too long, potentially making that column grow taller, and the vertical alignment (centered in most examples) looking unbalanced. I'd love to learn how other top web designers approach this scenario!

Hey Jesse, love your video. I did want to make a recommendation. I have background in video, a I wanted to suggest not using a second camera angle if you aren’t talking to that camera. It’s a bit jarring and pulls the viewers out cause it looks like you are looking away from us and it’s not very engaging. The only time you should use a second angle is if you’re going to use the camera to talk to. A good way is using the second angle to emphasize jokes. Like a glance to the other camera makes the viewer feel like they are in on the joke. Just a suggestion. Still love your content, just want to help cause you’ve helped me so much over the past few years.
