Lee sin is great example of what a champion should be, he is braindead enough that when you don't master him you will still do a lot of damage and he is skillfull enough that has a high learning curve that will get you only better and better over time and once you master, you have 200 years of collective balancing experience, that's what a begginer friendly champion should look like, not that garbage sword goes bonk tryndamere/ garen, that basically will run out of plays by day 2 playing then.

Tbh the fact that her Q now can make his R and E last longer is so op. In jungle you can proc 3 passives (double hit) with his E, and if used correctly, you can make ur ult cooldown down to 30 sec (level 6) just by making him last logner by Qeing and Weing... my names mos deadly. Ive been doing toplane yi since season 4. This guide is extremely limited and will only help you in lower elos. For one if you noticed alot of the level 1 all ins were decided by yi having ignite and his opponent not. Sett would kill a yi if he either starts e or has ignite. Of the champions yi gets bodied by early: jax (alpha his stun) gragas (wait for e) Shen (hope he ints) kled (close but he will usually barely get back mounted) Teemo (take cleanse to win) and Yorick (ult for his ult) Other hard matchups after 6 until yi gets botrk can be darius and mordekaiser. Sometimes you are aginst matchups where you start getting poked out. Or they are likely to towerdive. This is where putting extra points in w comes in. The second point in w nearly doubles the effectiveness. The third point is generally overkill but if you are struggleing aginst poke you should take it. Typically i take a second point in w level 4 and a third around level 8 or 9 if i need it. Especially now with e being a one point wonder. Lastly the reason you should play yi top over jungle is because most yi players afk farm jungle only picking up kills if theyre free. Playing yi top allows you to play yi while still having a jungler.

It's just wrong with yi, since when played right he has almost 0 counterplay. Being able to play him in 3 lines succesfully just says how broken he is, like, Q is untargetability every 2 seconds with damage that can almost delete an ADC, almost perma MS in his ult that buffs him to +500 and damage reduction. Also, he has enough healing and damage to solo baron relatively quickly at 3 items, he is just fkng OP when played and set up correctly, not for something funneling yi was such an OP strategy that they had to straight up remove. I dont see it being balanced, tbf, Yi is just a cancer that even if you get him behind, he can just get 2 kills out of nowhere in a TF and then carry the whole game like it is nothing

@@daroxstebern4514 Stuns make useless every champion, so when true, it just is a argument for every champion that " stun = useless". And when you take into account HOW easy it is to stun him, it is way harder to do than every other 200 year champion that you list, since they dont have untargetability 3/4 of the time theyre on the battlefield. Yi has arguably the best DPS out of all champions, while he has the benefit of being untargetable most of the time, without any tradeoff, how isnt it op? Yeah, yone IS strong and hard to counter, but starting that not everyone can use him well (and even if they can) he just has some points that balance it out, like his E having high cooldown and almost every teamfighting strenght locked behind his ultimate. Yi doesnt have any of these, since all of his power is in basic attacks (no CD) and his Q that has almost no CD, while having the potential to dodge every stun you throw at him, and im not even counting the drakktar build that makes him invisible too, making virtually kinda impossible to stun lock him up. And yeah, he has a fucking great early game, his damage is quite remarcable and high, since i have fallen on the trap of "Yi his weak early, easy win" only to have half my HP taken out by one of his Q and then dying like an idiot.

You have hard time dealing with yi because he is fed but it doesnt mean it is impossible like the 200 years.

Lots of bruisiers can counter tryndamere if they build armor/defensive items for baiting his ultimate. In mid elo, everyone knows that master yi is one of the best counters for trynda. You just build randuin, and he will not be able to outdamage you during your W healing.

Lethality Yi did more damage due to E proccing on the Q with Lethality Yi actually having a decent amount of AD to back up the E ratio. Having a longer cooldown on natural Qs didn't mean anything when it exploded people and you got the ult refresh anyway.

Something to point out about these clips that make Yi look really powerful, the fights Yi was in he was never in real trouble as they had no good cc to deal with him (besides Ahri charm but it was used too soon). Would have been much different if they had someone like a Leona or Alistair.

​@@amogus205 The times where he won fights that weren't based on having team intervention, either Yi was ahead, the enemy misplayed and or the enemy simply did not have anyone with a kit that could deal with him. With any of those circumstances of course Yi should win. Why shouldn't he? However the way his kit is designed makes it so that Yi can only take advantage of these situations. If none of these situations are occurring then Yi is completely useless. Same shit with champs like Pyke or Katarina. These champs can absolutely destroy, but if they are against a team that knows how to counter them and then these champs fall off they can't do anything about it. Yi did not win "just from pressing Q". Yi won because he was already winning. Tryndamere, how do you counter his R? You don't let him attack you by avoiding attacks. Aatrox, how do you counter him? You avoid his Q as best as you can, you cc him and you buy antiheal. Any tank, how do you counter them? You get lethality, magic pen, hp burn, true damage, armor shred items or abilities. Any assassin, how do you counter them? Don't feed them kills, have cc, have a good tank, outburst them. Any enchanter, how do you counter them? You buy items that negate their abilities. Any champ with cc, how do you counter them? Tenacity. Everything in League has some form of counter and it's quite formulaic, and when you fail to do these counters then of course it makes those champions look incredibly strong. Morgana for example, her root on her Q lasts quite a long time. A lot of people complain about it so much, about how long it lasts. Reality is if you brought the appropriate item that either blocks spells or cleanses debuffa or took the cleanse summoner spell, that 3 second root suddenly becomes a 0-1 second root, and it's no longer a problem. The strongest ability a champion has that causes so much annoyance in a community, completely negated in 1 button press. Most champs that seem OP only look OP because people allow that champ to overpower them.

There us a bug (maybe feature) in his w where if you are about to take a tower shot, you can almost completely negate the damage by using w abd canceling it the moment the tower shot hits. Its really frame perfect skill but if you get the hang of it you cab survive tower shots even at 30 or 40 hp

@@EpicBunty The bug is that the damage reduction is less effective 0.25s after the channel, and is coded like (100% - W damage reduction%) which because W damage reduction is more than 50% it should therefore decrease to less than 50%. However as W damage reduction% is halved against turrets, it goes from 60% damage reduction to 30% damage reduction and after the cast skyrockets to 70% damage reduction for 0.25s. Hence why you should cancel the W just before the turret shot lands on you

I don't like how riot "fixed" master yi, now it's literally a new champ, lemme explain: i had the 80% winrate vs yi as fiddle and the 73% as noct, but with the new yi my win rate against it dropped drastically to 37%, it's insane how few changes can destroy the win rate of specific champs against 1 in particular.

The W damage reduction is too strong for how powerful AD fighter itemization is. Between shieldbow, botrk lifesteal, and building bloodthirster into GA, there's way too much HP through burn through before Master Yi gets his Q resets. Gotta take exhaust for him and counterpick champs with long CC like Malzahar, Vi, Leona, etc. Unfortunately in solo Q people are selfish and rarely pick champs for the benefit of their comp, and more for their own amusement. It's like comps that go mage+enchanters against a Zed mid, the Zed is going to get fed beyond belief because jungle and mid and support refused to pick CC tanks.

honestly, I haven't been able to do well with Master Yi. I can get like 10-20 kills then get bursted down or cc chained as soon as I try to teamfight. So I just went with Evelynn as a hyper carry and shit like Trundle/Xin/Jarvan for normal junglers.

Bro the first game I had after the patch, Yi had pickaxe, and just used q with empowered e on me. Last thing I saw after death screen: 370 true damage level 4. He didn't auto me once. How is this a nerf? He can proc his e 4-5 times during his q now.

Q doesnt have 100% onhit scaling (75% first hit the rest is 18,75%) so his q only does 1,31 times his e dmg (around 50 best case at lvl 4 with pickaxe) so 65,5 true dmg or 87,5 before the hotfix.
