Another good habit is to feel the pulse of the music and breathe in before playing the first note. When you are about to play a piece for your teacher, in concert, in the practice room or whatever, it's good to give yourself a couple seconds to instill the pulse and the feeling of the piece into your heart before playing. And this goes for any piece, it doesn't matter if it's the dvorak cello concerto or a basic major scale exercise. You're not going to capture the attention of the audience if you just start playing out of nowhere without any resolve.

Excelente maestro!
