Thank you, thank you, thank you. I had no idea how much I would struggle with stiffness and becoming fluid. I can’t wait to try the bag exercise!

Glad to see that we agree on seven of our top ten concertos, and that one of them is the CPE Bach A major! I love all three of CPE's concerti and they seem to form a cycle from the perspective of when they were written in the early 1750s: the A minor is a look backwards to the Italianate Baroque, the Bb major is in the "galant" style of the present moment, and the A major looks forward to the classical, Haydnesque future. The last is my favorite because it feels the most personal, like this usually tense guy is finally cutting loose, which is why that's the one that made my top 10. And there are parallels even among the ones we don't agree on. I also considered the Vivaldi double but decided it needed to be a solo concerto so I went with the C minor, RV 401; my French concerto from the 1870s usually performed by students is not Lalo but Saint-Saens #1. I do like the Walton a lot, and considered it for my top ten but I went with Bloch's Schelomo, which I know you might disqualify since it's a rhapsody and not a concerto. If you won't allow the Bloch, I would consider the Walton but would probably go with Barber. I also like the Honegger a lot. And if you disqualify Schelomo I suppose that also means no Dutilleux or Rococo Variations. I also note the concertos notably missing from both of our lists. I keep being told that the "Cello Symphonies" of Prokofiev and Britten are masterpieces, but what I hear in them are two compositions with many extraordinary moments that don't quite add up to a coherent journey. I am also familiar with Prokofiev's earlier concerto which contains the original versions of many of the ideas in Op. 125; it's fascinating to hear those two works back to back, because they offer a glimpse into how Prokofiev's mind worked. It's possible that somewhere buried within the two Prokofiev works is the greatest cello concerto ever written, but in my opinion he died before he succeeded in carving that piece out of that material. As for the Britten, it feels like a lot of dramatic gestures that are really trying to make me feel something but in the end they leave me cold; maybe that says more about me than about Britten, but I know I'm not the only one who feels that way. I appreciate its structure and I want to like it; I'll keep on trying. It did take many years for the Barber to win me over, so perhaps that day will come for Prokofiev and Britten as well. Anyway I like your video and will check out your other work.

Bravo!!! What an amazing performance. If someone can play acoustic guitar and sing then why not play cello and sing. I need to practice more....

C definitely sounds the worst. It has a scratchy noise. I couldn't hear a difference between the other two.

I thought the garage sale bow sounded best on the long slow piece, but it did sound more nasally on the starts and stops of faster notes

I don't get it, there are notes denoted on the bass cleff that are lower than the lowest empty C string?? (e.g. 0:19 the last one in the line)
