I'm a C2-GC2 player (2's&3's) and I use the Spider-Man recovery very often for defense and even the occasional shot if I'm feeling fancy. If you mess it up, it will probably end up in a shot opportunity for the opponents but I think it's very useful. Most of the brain-dead monkeys I play against will prejump back wall bounces hoping for a defensive mistake and assuming they will have time to recover out of it before a counterattack. This punishes that most of the time or at the minimum buys time for your teammate to get back and set up defensive rotation.

So fun fact at least from the little messing around I’ve done, you can cancel a barrel roll if you use the air roll left or right buttons to flip. For example while holding (Xbox controller) X to airroll left if you click A to jump it counts as a barrel roll, then you can kinda cancel it by pressing the air roll right

Been playing few years for fun. I'm diamond 3. I can't do any one these mechanics apart from power slide of course. Even that I just use on the ground. First time hearing you can also use it when landing. In kickoffs I just drive to the ball. I'm pretty sure few of these mechanics I wouldn't even learn in reasonable amount of time.

What I never understood about the "importance of wave dashing" is that your car moves faster when you are on the ground, so jumping to wave dash means giving up that acceleration to be used later, why is that so important? I understand it being used on and off walls though.

It's the recovery aspect. Yes the walls, but also if you get bumped, if you take a single jump fifty, never used your flip reset, don't have any boost, wanna conserve boost, and plenty more.

Well done! As a gc2 I do agree with the most things you said except wall dashes because I do find them useful in games. Sometimes I'm walldashing to get supersonic and demo someone. Also you forgot the zapdashes other than that great vid!

Also the sound of you jumping can cause opponents to panic and jump and get a touch they didn’t want but you were just wall dashing so you can still make a play on their bad touch. Not really a plus for recovery but just an added bonus

one thing you forgot about powersliding is that it keeps your speed with moving forward normaly too if you hold power slide and press your drive forward button slightly or lightly and only press it you will keep that speed you where at once you pressed that button so you dont need to be constently holding drive and boost once at full speed if you hold powerslide

I've been doing speed fliping and half flipping to the point, that it is instinctual. I have so many issues Wave dashing it's not even funny, I can "perform" them, but consistently nor instinctively.

This was the first video for rocketleague i clicked on and honestly i learned nothing. If you are trying to make a video on ESSENTIAL moves that everyone should know. Maybe explain at its core level how to perform those moves.

poor way to explain the wall dash imo. that is not the most effecient way to do it lol. you want to start at the left of the thumbstick and smack it to the top right which gives you a more momentum based dash (reversed for opposite wall) than you would get from flicking to just the right and one double tap of jump for the dash is fine. mashing the button would be a chain dash and chain dashing properly you would be holding drift after the intital dash and "mashing the button" ps. not trying to be a know it all or say what your saying is wrong or whatever but this is the better way to do it
