Her “powers” are likely going to be explained by Isu technology, since that would look like magic to people in the 1500s. “Possessing a cat” sounds exactly like controlling an eagle in past games, only with a cat companion instead of being an eagle bearer. If it's like that then yeah. Not like ac 3 Washington dlc or ac valhalla Odin dlc where it's a magic ability. Like I liked how it was made a dlc but if the immersion ain't right, like certain abilities have to feel realistic to me. I like the idea of a assassin who masters in chemicals, make potions or things they can use to manipulate or to control their enemy as a ability. You remember an assassin's creed revelation How ezio was able to make Bombs and like the mechanics? Bring that back in the game if they're talking about bringing the original Mechanics back. But as making potions or gases. Maybe make it to where your dude is like A master Of controlling people By anti psychotics or By psychedelics Or poison. It would be a lot more immersive if they don't go by the unbelievable content. In my opinion I think if they went by like a magician style character Like a character that does illusions and does things to trick their character Would it look a lot more realistic. They need to take away the mechanics of the fighting style.They implemented from origins to Valhalla. Bring the fighting style back from the original games. Make a weapon wheel. Make? It to where I can use the hidden blade as a weapon and fighting and not just as assassination move. Make it where I can pair and counter and mess around with my enemy a lot more. Not this where I shoot a character and then it shows me how many points of a critical hit and like to me that is not realistic. If they bring back the ship mechanic, Implement Black flag And vanhallas mechanics. I want to be able to crash my ship.Or find any other enemy ship and board it or jump off my ship and swim to another enemy ship and secretly take them all out. What they should add and black flag was the power to be able to control other pirate ships. Or to be captain of other ships. Or like if there's certain weapons or certain decorations.Or certain things that you have to do for example everyone played any mad max for the playstation? You know how you went after like the big guys in the game and you can get like the Is decorations for your car? Do it something like that. I just hope it works out. Mirage I couldn't even play. I was pretty excited about the idea but it just didn't even look worth my time. I like how in the newer games.They feel a lot more open world and a lot more stuff to do. I just don't like the fighting mechanics. Also in assassin's creed unity.I believe it adds merely good mechanics for the parkour. Assassin's creed 3 The climbing tree mechanics felt really amazing, And in the newer games climbing like the mountains and stuff like that felt really good too. I just hope it turns out pretty good. Cause when I first heard the announcement of a witch trials style game I got pretty excited. But reading about the details they've been saying I have back in four thoughts

I would like this all more if the "supernatural" element of Hexe was superstition. The time period Hexe is likely in was during an era in which Germany was filled with superstition. I could easily see an Assassin taking advantage of this, using alchemy and animal taming to instill fear into her enemies, creating the myth of a supernatural witch that attacks from the shadows. That is the kind of "supernatural" I would like to see in Hexe. An assassin that uses stealth, science, and a hint of video game logic to take advantage of a superstitious society to achieve her goals. Hexe is still years out so we'll see...

That later evolved into showing enemies through the walls. And whatever rpg fantasy fuckery happened to the series in later years. You could argue that was just some kind of an ability to notice everything, but Desmond could see invisible symbols of 16, so it is a bit magical. Most of the magic in the series comes from the Ones who came before. Heck, we played as basically gods and half-gods in the last three games (Alexios/Kassandra, Eivor being Odin and Basim being Loki). Why are people making such a big deal of something that was pretty much the part of the series since day 1? We just got to know more of those Isu as the time went by. Really good video here! I always find it interesting to listen to your thoughts. About the supernatural abilities, I think it could possibly be like the mind controlling with the Apple Of Eden. Remember, the game is set in around the 16th to 17th centuries. So, the Templars and Assassins have access to far more Isu technology, vaults, and human technology. This could mean that "Elsa" could (either): have access to a piece of Eden, like a necklace (maybe her family is linked to the Brotherhood or the Order), she could have been experimented on by the Brotherhood or the Order (dissection was picking up around these times, as the Church had banned it in the past, so people were doing all sorts of experiments... maybe someone put a piece of Eden inside Elsa?... some Isu drug found in abandoned Isu vault or organic materiel like the tree from the AC3 DLC). Or it could be that she is a sage, or she is just gifted with Isu DNA, with an adapted version of Eagle Vision (the Sixth Sense of the Isu is the precursor to Eagle Vision - Knowledge). Knowledge is enhanced awareness of one's surroundings, the universe, yourself, other living beings, and time - as well as communication with all these things. Eagle Vision is a dumbed down version of these due to Isu-Human hybrids and because of multiple generations since the hybrids, the Isu DNA is weaker in humans on average (overall). Some, rarely, like bloodlines who have somehow kept some strong Isu DNA have people who have more access to Isu stuff; look at Desmond's ancestors: Edward went into the Observatory (handled that mess), Connor fulfilled an Isu prophesy, Ezio fulfilled an Isu prophesy, Altair fulfilled an Isu prophesy, and Desmond was, well, yk - it all lead to Desmond. They all used Isu tech and were somewhat resistant to others using it against them - of course not fully. All this seems impossible - how it all lead to Desmond, right? It was because, using Knowledge, the Isu looked into the future to via the Sixth Sense, and tech, to communicate with the future by sending messages (the holograms we see). They also used time capsules via vaults and Isu architecture to help fulfil their prophesies and predictions. A dumbed down version of this procedure is when Altair got his glock from peering into the Apple to look into the future. The Isu scientists looked at all the possibilities, planned all the events, built things were they should be, so that things would go the way they wanted - of course it wasn't perfect, as the Isu are not "gods", which humans, before the Renaissance, used to think they were. Some isolated groups after the Renaissance may still think so. Desmond's bloodline lead to the birth of a Sage, Desmond's son. Connor's daughter had an adapted or mutated version of Eagle Vision - she could see through the eyes of an eagle, and communicate with it... maybe Elsa is related to Edward Kenway, leading to Connor and then Connor's daughter? Speaking of Edward, he said that he had his Eagle Vision from a young age as a combination of "all the senses together", which other assassins take years to learn or never learn at all. On the topic of Connor, the Apple in the DLC shows Washington and Connor a future, like an extension of Knowledge, and that future is 100% possible unless they throw the Apple away, which they do. We see that other members of Connor's tribe would not dare get the Animal Spirit powers because it would ruin them physically and mentally, but Connor does, and Connor is fine as long as he doesn't over-use his new powers. This shows that Connor has an affinity for these animal powers, and he can summon spirit wolves too. This DLC, as in the vision, is canan, but not to what happened. It could've happened, but Washington and Connor made a decision to circumvent this future. That Red Willow Tree of Isu origins was still there, but Connor just didn't go there and drink it's tea. This doesn't mean Connor cannot get these powers - he just chose not too. The writers of AC3 confirmed this to be canan, which is implied in the DLC too. This could be revisited in the future - maybe following Connor's descendants. This is a bit-off topic, I realise, but it relates back to the idea of animal powers, or animal-controlling/communication powers, and how the Isu link to them.

If magic is being implemented in a way that’s more historical instead of fantasy, I think it’ll be fine. Possessing animals, seeing visions, producing illusions, communicating with entities for information, using potions and poisons, altering states of mind, levitating, teleporting, rituals for assassinations or necromancy are all more in line with what people actually thought witches were up to. If they implement these things in a way that has hard rules and costs associated with it, I think it’ll be ok. So long as it’s not high fantasy fireball tossing and lightning summoning, or where magic is used as a lazy way to explain why the narrative progressed the way it did, it’ll be fine and maybe even enhance the experience.

If handled well I thing magic could be super cool and interesting, giving the game a fresh feeling from other games but we’ll have to see as we get there

If the abilities the character has are coming from a piece of Eden, it should be fine. If she is a witch, literally one, this game will probably only be liked for the witch fantasy. I was hoping she was an assassin that possibly was told to steal a piece of Eden, and she used it accidentally leading to people calling her a witch. Would be a good setup imo. Game will be receiving a lot of hate.

Honestly I think it sounds interesting. I’d be more concerned with any magic stuff if we only got an AC game every few years or if this were a huge mainline entry. It sounds like almost a spinoff, but either way Ubi is doubling down on the IP and it seems like we’ll be getting titles pretty frequently, so there will be something for everyone. And I’ve long said they needed to do this. Or at least switch off between the rpg style gamea and the older more linear action titles to both give something to everyone on both sides and to keep the IP from becoming too stale or fatigue setting in. If we can get mainline entries like Shadows, a more linear story with some unique elements like Hexe, and maybe another old school style game from Bordeaux it could go a long way. The AC series is well defined for variety due to it’s structure. Different historical setting, different story, different cast of characters each time, while still being in the same world. And they have an opportunity to explore a few different styles of games within the series. And maybe when they get a protagonist that sticks and hits with players they can spin that off into another Ezio style trilogy. There’s a lot they can do with it. But we’ll have plenty of AC coming up so I’m not concerned if one entry tries something a bit different every now and then.

Hexe sounds really interesting. The "magic" could be great or could be silly - I guess the proof will be in the pudding - but I'm mostly really liking what I've seen and heard about it so far. Perhaps it helps that I'm a big fan of Anne Rice's The Witching Hour. And personally, when I hear Elsa, my first thought is Elsa "Ah, Venice" Schneider.

I feel like the Assassin’s Creed community is too conservative. I personally LOVE massive open worlds and dialogue options and RPG combat system. Besides the trains in Syndicate, Assassin’s Creed was mid to decent for me until Origins and Odyssey. Those two games made me LOVE it. Even Valhalla. I only tolerated Mirage because it still had a large open world with Baghdad although I am disappointed by the lack of variety in climate and scenery and choices and freedom and world size and terrible combat.
@mikeology5296 ай бұрын
Yeah odyssey and origins have been my favorite behind black flag. Valhalla was good but something was a little off for me and I can't quite put my finger on it, and while mirage was a good game imo I found myself missing the larger maps/side quests and rpg style of odyssey
@theblobconsumes48594 ай бұрын
Mirage's combat was pretty good on Hard difficulty. I don't think you understand what was lost, though. In atmosphere, tone and in the movement depth. Movement which a lot of people who don't love the early entries don't realize how deep it was, combined with excellent level design. Instead of building on top of the ideas of past entries, by creating a solid stealth system, creating bigger emphasis on emergent gameplay and freedom of play, and adding even more depth to the parkour, we got games that took away from all of those aspects in favor of more traditional RPG entries. They pretty much abandoned much of what made the series unique. They ended up creating something else, which while I appreciate, didn't really build on what came before. All of that said...I think a combination of the best aspects from the RPG entries with the best aspects of the older entries, and we'd have a great game. I personally think that building on top of what was good of the older entries is most likely to create something wholly unique. Imagine an immersive sim style AC game, with systemic freedom and emergent gameplay akin to the older Thief games or the Dishonored games. Or even the modern Hitman games. That could be excellent.

Hexe I was expecting to get on the God of war train and to something similar to that and give an AC story some heart.
@noobmaster48649 ай бұрын
Ok first of all we don’t talk about odyssey and secondly the pieces of eden are some sort of technology that humans don’t understand, they’re not magic. I also think that Ubisoft should’ve put a lot more time and effort into each AC game. If Ubisoft are going for a game with a darker tone that has magic and supernatural things and maybe a different kind narrative then I think ubisoft should make it a new ip and not a part of ac. Even though mirage was a call back to the older games, I still think ubisoft has ruined the series with their latest releases, maybe it would’ve just been better if Ubisoft ended the ac series a few games ago.

I mean, we were able to control an eagle in previous AC games. My guess is that we will have a cat instead of an eagle in that game. That would fit to the setting obviously, but we had a bird in every AC game so far. I think magical attacks would be annoying in this game. I think brewing potions or crafting specific things magical items would fit. What do you guys think?

Not sure how much i trust Ubisoft Montreal with this but I'll keep my expectations decently high. Also the E in Hexe is silent, you just pronounce it how you would "Hex" since a Hex is the word used for when a witch curses someone. Can't really explain why they're spelling it as "Hexe" though, maybe im wrong somewhere. Feel free to let me know. 👍
