Also, let me just say that after some reflection, the Assassins in Rogue actually weren't out of character - they do usually do everything to oppose the Templars and the Order of Ancients, regardless of the consequences, and we have quite a few examples: -Iltani assassinates Alexander (homophobic much? /s), which was on it's way to be a tolerant multi-cultural society. He was hailed as a liberator both in Egypt and Mesopotamia (where she's from lol). Not that the persians were bad rulers, but no one likes to be conquered. This lead to the empire to be broken and divided by it's generals and descendants who spent another three decades at war. Hope she felt good, cuz the common people definitely didn't. Also, don't get me started on how the Order of the Ancients was both controlling Alexander and Persia. Unless there was a schism within the Order, it makes no sense. -Aya assassinates Cleopatra for no real reason, just because she was associated with Caesar, which again, their alliance was the only thing keep Egypt free. With both Caesar and Cleopatra out of the way, Octavian easily took Egypt and he and the Order became more powerful than ever before. Good job Aya! -if we go by real life events, both Templars and Assassins (who are shia muslims) actually worked together a couple times because their enemy were the sunni muslims; -Ezio was very eager to put down the last byzantine resistance remnants, again, because of their association with the Order. The games have always told us that conquerors are bad regardless of their intentions, but Revelations seemed very keen to support the Ottomans and squash any remnants of the Byzantine Empire; -Connor for some reason thinks George Washington was the lesser of two evils when he was the one who ordered his village to be burned. He also owned slaves. I'm not gonna make moral judgements on Washington, but I'm gonna do it on Connor, because there's no reason for him to see the americans as a lesser evil than the brits. History proves us a right. (Trail of Tears, Slavery, Civil War, Segregration, yada yada); -Evie leaves Jacob alone in London, the biggest city of the world, just because they softened the Templars there, not realizing the Templars are s fucking Hydra, where you cut one down and two more grow. Jacob almost died. And if we go by History, her efforts didn't really do much in India; Many times the Assassins don't think of the consequences of their assassinations. Their thought process is (Templar = Bad, therefore, kill). Even the Vikings like Eivor and the Ragnarssons were actually smarter, because when they conquered an english kingdom, they would install a puppet king so the natives get happy to still have a king but said king still obeys the vikings with giving them permission for norse settles and trading deals. It's baffling how the Assassines never tried to infiltrate the Templar or the Order and try to undermine it from within. They should take some notes from Alfred and what he did to the Order in England. "Oh but it's just game. Doesn't need complex politics or anything." Nah man, this games is always trying to make me lectures about the nature of free will vs. control. At least make it make sense. Not saying I support Templars or the Order, as they're usually cartoonshly evil, but the Assassins fucking suck since only their opinion is the only one that matters and kill anyone who disagree. Shay was the only one who understood but also avoided unnecessary bloodshed with Achilles

Both are great, but let's be real here. The biggest miss Ubisoft would ever make is NOT making a title that tries to tie these 2 games + AC III together, having 3-4 playable protagonists similar to GTA V, having Arno Dorian, Connor Kenway & Aveline de Granpre together to team up against Shay Cormac. You could even add in Eseosa to the story as a 4th character, and even Shay Cormac could be a playable character for some missions.... Set it immediately after AC Unity before & during the Napoleon Wars (1794-1814 is perfect), and you have by far the best AC game ever, especially if you add in gameplay features from Brotherhood, Rogue, III & Unity, you literally have the Ultimate AC game.

This may sound nitpicky, but you learn more about Achilles's motives and method by reading the War Letters collectibles around the game map. Explains how he was chosen by Ah'Tabai before he died and how Achilles thought the Mentor was too soft and that the Brotherhood needed to be more aggressive. So he was definitely just a different kind of leader even before he lost his wife and son, which could obviously make him even more irrational. Of course it should still have been better explained within the main story. The part that confused me more was how Adewale just went along with everything even after two earthquakes, one being in Haiti where he had many friends and allies. Felt very contrived to have him side with Achilles so easily.

Here’s how I interpreted rogue: Shay was disgusted by how the Assassin’s changed to a power hungry group which is why Shay defected, and because Achilles was spared from the rest of those who were killed, he understood and realized where his faults were and so that’s why he’s different when he’s training Connor because he didn’t want to repeat what he did in the past, and so Shay wasn’t a Templar who betrayed the Assassin’s, he was still part of the brotherhood, but it was the assassin’s who betrayed him and considered him a “ROGUE”.

7:27 Despite having an operational brotherhood, the counsel definitely did not do things the proper way. They assigned assassination targets willy nilly. They are reckless. Arno does one small step of investigations, reports it back to the council with a SUSPECT and the council members immediately are likely, "So that "suspect" was definitely involved in the murder then, kill them". They don't prompt Arno to conduct further investigations, nothing. Arno just does one step of the investigation, reports back with a SUSPECT based on the small step of the investigation and the counsel immediately states, "Kill him". They did the same with Lafreniere. Arno came and put Lafreniere as a SUSPECT and the counsel is like "kill him" before they found out that Arno killed him beforehand. Turns out, Lafreniere actually warned Monsieur De Laserre so the fact that the council assigned him as a target with no discussion whatsoever should speak volumes of how the French brotherhood operated.

Rogue. 1. Shay was badass. 2. Shay had the best outfits. 3. Most unique story (play as Templar). Either way, this is like comparing apples to the megalodon shark. Unity was in development for 4 years, Rogue was developed in 8 months, start to finish. Rogue had almost 0 marketing and was just there to satisfy old gen users. Despite all of the odds against it, Rogue was the last game to capture the AC magic, which still hasn't been done since, from it's predecessors before the RPG elements really started to take over, ending the series as we knew it, and starting a new.

Rogue. I honestly believe that Unity, even tho it got more appreciated with time (which is a good thing) it had also became a little bit overrated. Unity’s mechanics are great, the parkour is great, the combat is great, the stealth is great, Paris is great, the interface is great, everting else? Not so much, Arno starts as a good protagonist but once he joins the assassins he becomes even less charismatic than Connor, the story is boring and gets to nowhere, Paris, while a beautiful city, is void, I mean, the npcs, the crowds and the random soldiers that attack you help to build a city that feels alive, but when it comes to activities…all the missions are a repetitive and sometimes uncreative, there is nothing to do besides stealth missions (syndicate got this way better than Unity, with those missions with historical figures and the liberation of London) buying buildings serves almost no purpose, something that is weird since the AC franchise had done that in many games before and it was better, even fricking Rogue.

Does anyone else think that Assassin’s Creed games would make great movies! As long as they keep to the game structure and make no bad changes! And what actors would do justice to the main assassin and Templar roles?

I have the perfect idea for the next video, Who is the stealthiest assassin?
@thebelgianlemon68152 жыл бұрын
I really like both games but I think Rogues side content was better. You take over forts and settlements and hand them over to the British which is beneficial to the Templars. It’s also very satisfying in my opinion. The Café Theatre is also very fun to renovate but just not as good or useful as the fort/settlement takeovers.

You should make a video about ac brotherhood's first three missions in monterrigioni, where ezio helps people, but those people foreshadow what will happen next, maybe they are Cesare's spies, like guy who was mistaken for machiavelli

I've just completed Unity for the first time & have completed Rogue multiple times. Unity should be the better game by far, but I get so much more fun out of Rogue (and Syndicate) than I do from Unity. There's just too much irritation with Unity for it to be as enjoyable as most other AC games, such as 1) it was going to be possible to loot possessions from dead bodies and sell the possessions on, however Ubisoft removed the function to seek the possessions which can still be looted. That's just lazy. 2) Not having the whistle function. It's still possible to pull off assassinations from cover and hiding spots, but the whistle function is such a basic thing and so helpful, I can't think of a good reason to remove it. 3) Buying the collectible & murder mystery maps with "real" money as opposed to them being in-game purchases. These days people would say that's a really small thing compared to what Ubisoft do now but it's pure greed either way. 4) No French accents with the main characters. I don't mind them speaking English as I don't speak a word of French, but please give the main characters French accents. That's just embarrassing and ruins the immersion for me. 5) Not being able to upgrade the Eagle Vision. I know that you can improve Eagle vision with certain outfits but not being able to improve Eagle Vision as Arno becomes a better assassin feels like a huge miss for me. 6) Travelling around Paris. The map itself is amazing, it's one of the very best in the AC series make no mistake. But your only options for getting around Paris are on foot, parkour, swimming and fast travel. I honestly feel like there needs to be another travel option in there for the journeys that are too short for fast travel to be effective (thinking load times here) but make parkour / running tedious. 7) Parkour. Maybe this is me struggling to get over the appalling launch of Unity. One of the games biggest selling points was the improved parkour and I'm sorry but it just hasn't been improved enough. There's new stuff in there and it's smoother than almost any other AC game, but it's still not good enough in my opinion. That's all I can think of at the moment. Rogue has it's issues of course but the irritations with Unity ruin what should be one of the best AC games in the series. That's why I've replied Rogue so many times but have only just completed Unity for the first time.

Story: Rogue Unity is so forgettable even Revelations has a better story Combat: Rogue Games should be fun, not slow and frustrating. There are difficult moments in Rogue's combat where you need to pick a good strategy while Unity's difficulty originates in pure lack of features. Stealth: Rogue Rogue has some of the best tools of all the AC games which while give you an advantage don't make the game a boring wait behind the corner so you can press assassinate. Unity lacks basic stealth moves such as whistling and some proper social stealth. Parkour: Rogue Unity's parkour is automatic and unleashed the wave of unrealistic animations that are present to this day in newer games. On the other hand Rogue's parkour is rich in control, much closer to the point of being realistic and you can even use zipplines. Soundtrack: Rogue If you haven't played Unity for 2 years and hear the soundtrack, it's most likely not gonna remind you of anything. Couldn't say the same about Rogue. Side content: Rogue The forts and all the other activities are fun, most side quests in Unity are boring and forgettable filler. Open World: Rogue What's better? One big city with a few DLC jokes or a dozen of small ones with a bonus of exploration and the feeling of a traveler? Name me one thing better in Unity.

Rouge's combat and parkour is just re used from black flag Personally I think that Rouge has a way better story I find the combat way to easy and boring And lame Same as parkour And Stealth is fun but I would 100 percent prefer unity's stealth and combat and open world and parkour
@Engille9673 ай бұрын
@@Teringluier4546 hello. I wrote this a long timr ago and might have changed my opinions. Rogue's combat is worse than Black Flag's in terms of feeling, naval battlrs and animations, but has the benefit of more enemy types and harder combat. The parkour is also worse in terms of animations, speed, design and overall feel, but better in more swings and special interactions. When comparing Rogue to Unity, I find that Rogue has a slightly worse version of the gameplay from AC4 and wins over Unity, because of how incomplete, unoriginal and broken that game is. Both stories are kinda meh. They are the exact opposite in combat. Rogue is too easy but works while Unity is hard but broken. Unity lacks basic AC features like hiring factions (prostitutes, mercenaries, etc...), which is also Rogue's case, but Rogue at least offers something original that isn't a plot hole or a bug. For example, compare the eagle vision in Rogue to the wannabe modern version in Unity. Unity is just wannabe cool and modern. Rogue is meant to be retro AC and also fulfills this expectation.

@@Engille967this isn't 2014 unity's combat barely break's or glitches only in multiplayer i play on PC maybe that's why i barely get glitches unity's combat is only hard at the beginning of the game like how can you find that hard? If you have a good weapon you could easily defeat every enemy Wait what do you mean by enemy types you only have a sword dude a gun dude and a officer enemy and a bounty hunter Enemy who is actually the only hardest enemy in the game because you can only kill them by shooting them with something Unity's combat is only hard when there's sniper's Unity is the only game with it's own combat being different from all the others Ac3 black flag freedom cry and rouge's combat and gameplay is literally identical it's repetitive ASF Also the Naval battle's got repetitive After having them for three games in a Row i find rouge's map boring because it's the same stuff as black flag and freedom cry Only it's in north America Unity was trying to be a wannabe og assassin's Creed game with original combat and parkour but with a shit story And to me eagle Vision is the same in every game up until origins In rouge and black flag There's less parkour freedom and i randomly jump to my Death after climbing a church I find it clunky Or miss jumping and falling to my death and having to redo my parkour in a mission like im black flag There have been so many moments where Me trying to jump on a wooden plank attached to a house but shay decideds to jump 90 degrees to the left for some reason and fall to his death

The only thing that’s wrong with Unity these days is that Ubisoft’s switch to from UPlay to Ubisoft Connect inadvertently made it’s multiplayer components unplayable because Ubisoft didn’t even bother to update AC Unity to be compatible with the new Ubisoft Connect, so Ubisoft has also underhandedly taken the Unity Multiplayer down as well along with the rest of Ubisoft’s legacy library.. 🤨 There’s thankfully a workaround for Consoles though which is to disconnect the game from your Ubisoft Connect account but it’s not perfect.. 😕

If ubisoft just had the foreseight and patience to delay unity for one more year it would have been everything that it was hyped up to be. Just needed a much better story that is actually important to the overall story arch of the series, and some more time to pad out the bugs and gameplay. If that were the case i think it wouldve been considered the ac game we always wanted, and ubisoft wouldnt have moved over to the rpg style

While I agree with the point that both games are seen as underrated, it still feels like an unfair comparison. Rogue is supposed to be a transition from Black Flag to Unity. Since Rogue was 7th-gen and Unity was 8th-gen, I would even argue that it's a transition between console generations (I've played both the 7th-gen and 8th-gen versions of Black Flag, the 7th-gen version feels more natural to me). If anything, it's similar to the dual release of 3 and Liberation. It's just in reverse, with the spin-off title played first. A more 'apples to apples' comparison would be Unity and Syndicate.

Your part on rogues story is the reason why although I somewhat like the game, it will never be a great AC game to me, the assassin's are basically just templars and vice versa. I also really love Unity, its in my top 5 AC games for sure
