Love Dino ribs! Have you formed an opinion about charcoal consumption yet? More or less than 560 or 1050? I stopped using my 560 (original charcoal grate) because I was tired of burning so much charcoal.

How well do you find the hopper lid closing as compared to the previous gen 1050 series ? I found that I had to use multiple layers of aluminum foil to get a proper seal on my previous generation to get a solid seal or do a mod to the gasket.

I have the XT and noticed the same - when I run a water pan or anything on the bottom, I have to run 50-75 degrees higher on the controller to get actual temps I'm looking for (so I run at 300 to get 225 actual in the pit). Kind of a bummer and I hope MB fixes it. Love the XT otherwise.
@thegalleryBBQ6 ай бұрын
Weird right. Maybe a fix is coming. Ill be talking about this in my review video out Saturday AM...

Great video as always! So to be clear regarding the temperature algorithm issue, are you saying that with the water pan on bottom grate, the actual real temp inside the pit was lower than the set temp on the controller? Or vice versa? Just a tad confused about that.
@thegalleryBBQ6 ай бұрын
Vis versa.. 250 set temp, actual 300f... I talk about that in todays review video.
@gegarza6 ай бұрын
Ok because in your video you state that you should run your controller temp higher than desired temp, which contradicts what you just said, but i’ll definitely watch the review! Great job BTW!
@thegalleryBBQ6 ай бұрын
@@gegarza So to be clear. Sometimes ill over shoot my temps on purpose to start the cook quicker. So if i'm smoking at 250f, I may start the pit at 325f and back it down. I like a hotter pit at first when the protein hits. If that makes sense.

makes perfect sense! Thanks for clarifying!

Hey Tommy, I'm curious why Masterbuilt put those stainless steel racks "instead" of the CAST IRON? How do you like that? What do other people say about that?

Here in Yuma, Az, we go to Sam's Club, get the butchers attention, and ask for him to get us (like what you got) without making them into "FLANKEN STYLE", that's the only way they sell them there. Beef Plate Ribs, expensive but well worth the $ , once in a while!!!!!!!!!
