MC Australia is by far the best. I saw some extraordinary dishes. So extraordinary I sometimes have a hard time believing these people are actually amateurs. And than they are such a descent people. The atmosphere is great, no backstabbing, no drama. Really a joy to watch.

Cant really compare tbh. Its pretty obvious most of these people are trained amateur by Professional. While other "Bad" or "Drama" masterchef are basically homeless if they lost the competition. They never even touched most of the ingredients.Without a doubt "Homecook" as what they intended their show to be.

@Purple Cat what do you mean "no"? I was right either way, they are homecook. But Aussie are full of trained amateur whose family run machelin stars restaurant or their dad/mom famous chef. Cant compare at all. Of course they gotta shake that juicy drama ratings since most of them never cook fancy things. At the end of the day all they cook mostly steak or alike anyway.

To be fair, each episode is a week apart. They are given cooking classes and study session during that week which enables them to get better. They don't particularly know what the actual dish or dishes they'll need to cook during the episode, but they're given direction in similar elements. For instance, say an episode has them baking a fancy cake. They may be given a class on basic baking techniques and flavors, in which they go and do research on. That way, they don't go into the episode blind. Which is nice. They start the season as basic home cooks, and leave as master chefs.

It's nice to see the contestants cheering each other on or complimenting each others dishes. It's definitely different than Masterchef USA but I also don't mind what we do here in the United States. Gordon Ramsey often reiterates to the CONTESTANTS that they are in fact in a competition and reminds them that at the end of the day, there's only one winner and sometimes you can't be friends.
